King Buffet - Carson City
King Buffet
Description
Dining at this restaurant offers a mixed experience, showcasing a blend of strengths and weaknesses. While some patrons enjoyed the expansive variety, including a Mongolian grill and sushi bar, others encountered significant disappointments with food freshness and cleanliness. Issues such as mislabeled dishes, unappetizing presentations, and potentially food safety concerns have been reported. The ambiance reflects a need for updates, with older decor and chipped plates. However, the service has been consistently praised for being attentive and accommodating. Overall, while it presents a broad selection at reasonable prices, diners should approach with caution.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 it does taste like a Chinese buffet and has the typical dishes so it hits the spot for any cravings. The flavorings on some were very mild and we can't tell the chicken dishes apart in terms of taste (color and texture is different though). The chef was working hard behind sushi bar but it's mostly just different fish on California or tempera rolls. The Mongolian grill has some vegetables that were inconsistent in cut and meat that is completely defrosted and just sitting in their juice (eek) Ambience: 3/5 slightly older store so some things can do with a touch up. The plates are chipped and there are rips in the chair cushions Service: 5/5 slight language barrier but they were nice and hard working Value for price: 5/5 $12 for ayce weekday lunch so it's a good deal
The cashier was quite impolite and the food was subpar. The sushi was dry and seemed old.
I wasn't expecting much from a buffet, but this experience was beyond my worst expectations. The food was soggy, heavy, and clearly not handled properly to prevent cross-contamination. Even dishes that shouldn't taste fishy did. The sauces were almost like jelly. $17 for dinner buffet? More like $12 with a side of severe stomach pain.
I recently visited King Buffet with my family and friends, and we had a wonderful time sampling the wide range of dishes available. The ambiance was very pleasant, and we were able to try nearly everything on the menu. I especially loved the Mongolian barbecue, which was loaded with vegetables and shrimp. However, the crab Ragu could have benefited from a little more cooking time. The servers were courteous and efficient, which added to our overall enjoyable dining experience.
