There's plenty of parking available. The entrance is a bit narrow, but the flavors inside are bold and delicious. The wall decorations are a joy to behold, showcasing Columbia's rich heritage beautifully. The owners are wonderfully friendly and always take a moment to greet their customers. Their warmth is evident in the food they serve. I visited this place 20 years ago, and it’s still just as amazing. I love it! Th... View all feedback.
What Juan Gonzalez doesn't like about Casa Vieja:
The food tastes good. It's a little pricey, compared to Colombian restaurants recently visited in Houston and New York. Like 4 bucks for a single empanada or 6 dollars for a juice is a little over the top. Food portions could also big a little more generous. Photo is an example of a very small plátano side. We finally found a Colombian restaurant that reminded us of Medellin. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly.
One of the best bandeja paisas I’ve tasted so far! Ambience was good, staff were welcoming. It was a great gastronomic experience.
As a new yorker, one of the things I miss the most is the easy access to the many cuisines.. especially my Latin ones. With Casa Vieja I am now able to get my Colombian fix. The music, the decor, the staff and even the food transports me back to Jackson Heights Queens.. even if only for an hour or two.
Terrible service, first time coming here they served me a ball of rice with a big size chicken! How do you give me a ball of rice, that’s not enough, for $18 i get a ball of rice and some chicken. Don’t recommend going here. The chicken was not cooked properly
I visited with several of my girlfriends. It was our first time and our waiter took the time to make suggestions and explain popular dishes. He was so helpful and made our experience really great! Several of us ordered the juice smoothies. I got the guava and I’m still dreaming about it. One girlfriend got the soursop and she was so happy because she had not tasted it in years. I started with the beef empanada and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It topped each bite with this amazing sauce they had on the table. I got the mini Bandeja Vieja as my main and it was so good. Everyone loved their food and each plate had huge portions. I’m definitely coming back!
