During our holiday in Ireland, staying in self-catering accommodation, we decided to have fish and chips one evening. Our host’s recommended chippy was closed, so a quick online search brought us to the Atlantic Way Diner, which stood out due to positive fish reviews. The two young men serving us were friendly and welcoming. We ordered haddock and chips twice, both times with curry sauce. The fish had a lovely, tasty batter. Being from a major fishing city in northern England, we’re quite particular about our fish, and this was just right—fresh, white, and flaky. The chips were excellent, contrary to another review saying they were hard. The curry sauce was a classic chip shop style and very good. The batter was light and crispy, never soggy—almost as good as our local chippy back home, which is a high benchmark. The price was very reasonable, about €13 each, similar to what we’d expect to pay in northeast England, and the portions were generous.
Wonderful breakfast with mouthwatering flavors! Every dish is made fresh to order, and you can personalize your meal by swapping ingredients. Breakfast with chips? Absolutely— they're fantastic!
Legends Diner is a great spot. It’s simple, comfortable, and relatively clean with a cozy atmosphere. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, offering good value for what you get. I really enjoyed my visit. Just a tip—there’s no soap provided, so bring your own if you need it. The shower is refreshing and nice. For the ladies who aren’t fans of Guinness, I suggest trying a pint at Connolly’s Bar—I’m glad I did because I actually finished a whole pint. Leap (pronounced Lep) is a lovely village.
We dropped by Legends Diner for a late breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent value menu and welcoming staff. The generous portions left us fully satisfied and comfortably full for the rest of our trip. Overall, we had a very positive experience.

This was our first time here, but it certainly won’t be our last.
