Sgabeus - CARRARA

Il cibo è molto buono e il personale è cordiale, ma il servizio lascia a desiderare. Avevamo prenotato per tre e ci hanno dato un tavolo per due, troppo piccolo per starci comodamente. Ci hanno anche portato antipasti e primi piatti insieme, e ci siamo ritrovati con 8 piatti da gestire su un tavolo di soli 80x80cm (oltre ai bicchieri di olio d'oliva e alla caraffa di acqua). Un vero caos. Per il piacere di più persone abbiamo perso il piacere dell'esperienza, non torneremo anche se il cibo era molto buono.

Gli spaghetti ai frutti di mare erano coperti con il sapore del burro, mentre il fritto misto era di cattiva qualità in quanto i gamberi non erano facilmente sbucciabili e il sapore del fritto era assente. Il prezzo non era elevato, ma la qualità era scarsa.

It’s not exactly a fancy restaurant but if you want to go to a place where locals hang out and where you can sample some real local specialities, this sure is as good a place as any. It wasn’t full of folk when we wandered in, the waitress thought a little and then found a little corner table for us. The steak i had was huge but not the best I’ve had, although, granted, it was very cheap. The prawns were great though and the local hot buns, sgabei, with soft cheese and ham were yummy too, a huge portion at that too! Would definitely go back. If not for food, then certainly for atmosphere!

Nice food and fair prices. Went there on a Saturday for dinner. Hard to get a table without reservation.

Well, this restaurant it's simply a must if you are in Marina di Carrara. It's an amazing food experience. I really recommend their specialty: sgabei. You wouldn't regret. I found myself and my friends so satisfied with their food.
