Lovely evening at this beautiful restaurant, ambiance is very nice, really stunning new Carmichael Hotel. We all enjoyed our special evening. Food was good, would like to see it improve a bit. Restaurant is new, so likely still perfecting everything. Goat cheese appetizer was a spread, and not our favorite. Crab cakes decent, but a little too pressed and dense. What User doesn't like about Vivante French Eatery:
Not recommended. Vivante is a stereotypical hotel restaurant: a beautiful decor but poorly managed. We thought Vivante would be a perfect location for dinner before a show at the nearby Center for the Performing Arts, but we were wrong. It was our anniversary. I put it on the reservation. We had gifts and cards on the table. The waiting staff looked confused, why two women would celebrate an anniversary and asked us several times, whose birthday it was. When we said it was our anniversary, they looked completely unfriendly. This is not an lgbtq friendly place and we will not come back here again.
Atmosphere was not at all French or mood enhancing. Being seated next to another couple when the dinning room was empty. The food was just mediocre. The soup of the day was outstanding! Management was dressed in a suit and sport coat that did not fit along with a visibly dirty shirt. Our service was the best part of the evening. She was very attentive and informative. She was 5 stars!!
This restaurant never disappoints! The Sunday brunch is very special- the scones are a DO NOT MISS
We tried a few fish dishes fresh, tasty, well presented. Suggested wine pairings worked well. Excellent service. Pleasant surroundings, able to have quiet conversation.
My wife and I took my sister to brunch for her birthday. Everything was great, environment, service but especially the food. Everyone was happy. It is so nice to have a nice meal and also continue to have conversations.
