Mc Carthy Family Eatery - Carmel

Awesome experience and great food! I am new to Lake Carmel and was excited to find gluten free options nearby. The food has been great, and the experience even better. Coming from an urban neighborhood, I am used to using grubhub for all my deliveries. After placing an order through grubhub, I was called by McCarthy's and was told about several negative experiences. McCarthys offered to keep me posted if there were any issues and that they would do what they can, but hoped I understood the issues they have had in the past. Thankfully, all went well with my delivery, but the fact that McCarthy's took the time and was dedicated enough to call me ahead of time and offer to do what they could to ensure I had a positive experience floored me. I've certainly had my negative experiences with grubhub, so to know that an establishment was looking out for their customer was an unexpected and great surprise. Did I mention the food was great! After this experience, McCarthy's has a loyal new customer!

Food price quality (value) rating 8. The atmosphere is country tavern . We split a blue cheese bacon burger and had a couple drinks. The menu is quite diverse, offering pretty much everything you 'd want at a tavern, and the prices are reasonable. Local crowd, several tv 's, and a large, nicely designed outdoor patio with a stage for live acoustic entertainment. A limited draught beer selection with a few typical U.S. brews, and a couple IPA 's. Plenty of parking. Service was okay.

Great chicken. Stooped in with a friend for Dinner. Great service too. Outdoor eating is a plus on a warm summer night.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t a fine dining establishment. It’s a great spot to relax with the locals, grab some bar food or a burger, catch a game, and enjoy a beer. While there are booths, I’ve really appreciated the big round tables when the whole family is together; they make for much better conversation. The service is friendly and efficient, making it comfortable for all ages. Plus, there's a charming back deck that's perfect for summer!

First time here. It's a hidden secret. Loved the food which was well prepared. The service was friendly and attentive. Finally the atmosphere was perfect. I wish we would have come here sooner. This is a new favorite.
