What AHopthorne doesn't like about Selwyn Samuel Centre Lliedi Suite:
I stayed near this venue for a few days to attend a function and was disappointed with the restaurant experience. The bar area was crowded with cakes and pot noodles displayed haphazardly. The staff hygiene was poor, as they used the same gloves for cutting meats and vegetarian options. The food was cold and unappetizing, with the Sunday roast being particularly disappointing. This place breaches defies the basic laws of hygiene. Cross contaminated cheese sandwich, had flakes of ham in it. The order being; a cheese sandwich for my vegetarian niece. In what universe is that acceptable? The staff, although very young, tried their best, but there was an older man who was constantly watching and fussing (but not helping) whilst talking to a couple of cronies. Furthermore, instead of making people nervous, why is he allowing his staff to wear long hair down and jewelry, when it is clearly stated against the basic hygiene rules. Where is the department of health and safety when you need them? The coffee, to put it bluntly is revolting, if I had the energy j would have complained, but, I felt sorry for the overworked and clearly underpaid and unhappy young staff. It's not their fault, it's the owners. He should be ashamed of himself, exploitation is alive and well. I strongly recommend he gets his act together because his lack of care, hygiene and substandard ingredients will be his downfall.
The venue was covered in posters and felt tacky, except for the clean toilets. The young staff were capable but seemed overwhelmed. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant unless attending a specific event at the venue. The only redeeming factor was the Welsh cakes and local ales.
I attended a Christmas party at this restaurant. The place was clean and tidy, and the staff were cheerful. My only complaint was that there wasn't a wide selection of lagers on tap that I enjoyed. I would still consider visiting again.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! Last Friday, we enjoyed a great tribute act at the monthly Tribute Club. Neil Diamond put on a fantastic show with hit after hit, receiving two well-deserved standing ovations. The next day, we stopped by the Riverside for a delicious coffee and bacon roll after a scenic coastal walk. The staff were incredibly friendly. On Sunday, we returned for the Carvery which featured three choices of roast meats, a variety of fresh vegetables, and delicious gravy. The vegetarian in our group was also well taken care of with a tasty vegetable and cheese bake, along with a separate serving of gravy for their meal. The service from the Anyone Waiting team was both professional and courteous. I will definitely be returning to this gem of a restaurant.
We went here with friends and paid £10 each because the organiser did not realise that it was only £5 each until a certain date. However, this was fine, as it’s not a lot to pay for a night out.The tribute act were very good when they finally came on at about 9.30. We had been told the show was on from 7 10 pm, so were waiting a long time. We were told they had been caught in traffic. We all enjoyed ourselves, dancing to the music and said we would definitely go here again.
