La Juanita Mexican Cuisine Grill

I am surprised that this is listed as an option on happycow. I'm here today and they don't have vegan options on the menu. my waiter was very nice, but clearly not understood what was vegan or what was vegetarian. I ordered the fajitas when I had seen someone else here, and I clearly asked them “vegan, so no meat, and no milk like cheese or sour cream”. he acted as if he understood it and then left. then he came back and asked if I wanted to mushroom, as if he was not sure if mushrooms were considered “meat” or not, and I said sure. when my food came out, the Fajita-Veggies were cooked with garnels. I told him, “There are shrimps here,” and he said, “Oh, I didn’t know you didn’t want it.” I said, “Yes, meat is garnel.” So he took the food back, and I'm not sure if they did it again or just ran out all of them because the plate really came out fast. either I was hungry and it didn't look like there was still a glitch, so I started eating. the food was in order, but there was a small cup of acid cream on the plate (which I could remove as it was in a cup) but clearly the "no milk" had not sunk part. then, when I came to the bottom of the little bowl of the bonnies, I saw pieces of meat in it. obviously it was too late to do something about this point, but only intentionally when they go to eat here. I wouldn't go unless I was really desperate. also eating was over $16 before the tip, what I think is very overpriced for what I got.

My man ordered the shrimp tacos salad and I had veggie fajitas. really good.

After a strenuous hike through Carlsbad Caverns, we worked up quite an appetite. This restaurant was absolutely amazing! Our server was exceptionally friendly and the food was delicious. Despite a large party arriving right after us, causing a bit of chaos, it was definitely worth it. My family of five will certainly be returning. Thank you.

La Juanita gave us the most wonderful food. The Mexican cuisine was just what we really wanted mexican. Your menu also had other options that were not mexican for the young child with us. It was soooo delicious and fill. The staff was exceptionally friendly and even the kitchen team came out to interact with us and grandchildren. We even had to go to Sopapillas for seconds.

Amazing food and great customer service! Salsa is homemade and is ingenious! It's a must for anyone who travels around.
