Tosca - Carleton
Tosca
Description
Experience at the restaurant was mixed. While some dishes were good, they were also expensive. The seafood linguini lacked flavor and the pizza was missing some key ingredients. The coffee was extremely bitter. On a positive note, the Mateo Mule was enjoyable. The service was impeccable, with personal recommendations for wine pairings. Despite some shortcomings, the pasta and antipasto were delicious. The owner was hands-on and made the dining experience special. Though not spectacular, the meals were enjoyable. The restaurant also offers a nice wine selection and local beer. Overall, a decent option for Italian cuisine.

The owner being originally from Elba certain has its influence on the quality of the food and the menu. We enjoyed a full three course dinner with the three of us, and not cheap at 200$ including tax and 4 alcoholic drinks it was well worth it. Very fresh produce, balanced in taste, and an attentive staff make for a great experience. Truly recommend.
We had a memorable dinner at this fine restaurant. The service was outstanding - royalty would not have been treated better. The food is top notch Italian cuisine. They have their own private wine collection, and can recommend the best wine to complement your meal. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed!
Have been here for our dinner.Yes,authentic Italian cusine is wonderful and a service is very good. The decoration inside is well, too.
The food was good but pricey. We drank a very good wine suggested by the sommelier, but the suggestion didn't fit with the meal. There was plenty of very good wine on the card, we would have been better served in choosing ourselves. Besides, the seafood pizza was good, but not excellent and with very little seafood on the topping. The salad was good but very simple and expensive for what we got. This is not the best Italian restaurant I went to, but not necessarily a very bad choice if you don't care about what you will pay.
We paid $11 for a small portion of white wine and a Piccata dish that lacked lemon flavor and was overly oily, despite requesting minimal butter or oil. Despite the disappointing start, we were eventually able to order a satisfactory vegetarian pizza after flagging down our server.
