for me and two kids with three pop it was over 50 dollars... it was the best wings I've ever had and the rest of the food was good too..plus our waitress was very nice and was great to my kids.. but for a family buffet, it's a little too pricey for us to make this a routine place. What Wilma Schowalter doesn't like about Hing Wah Restaurant:
My family and I went to Hing Wah 's on Sunday for the buffet dinner. The egg rolls were mushy gross actually. The vegetables and chop suey were cold. My mother remarked to the waitress that the vegetables were cold and she replied, Yeah, well...okay. I can ' tcomment on the service because it was a self serve buffet. We will not be back that 's for sure. View all feedback.
This is not a Mandarin Restaurant. The Buffet may have about 18 hot dishes. However all the main categories are represented, rice, noodles, seafood, various meats in various sauces, two soups, eggrolls, spring rolls, chicken balls, ribs, a range of desserts. I found all the vegetable dishes to be very fresh. And crunchy! Very good! * kids-booster seats and a highchair, some foods they will like, large bathroom. **accessibility – two steps to go up into it, and a handicapped bathroom. For the hard of hearing there is another room that may be quieter. There is very little parking, go early.
The staff are really friendly and make the experience much more enjoyable. The restaurant atmosphere requires updating, but it's a typical small town Canadian Chinese Restaurant. The kids loved the new additions to the buffet the last time we were there (i.e. gummy worms and pogos). I would love for the food to be MSG free, as some family members are allergic and have to avoid certain dishes (maybe something to consider with the new Mandarin restaurants coming to Ottawa with a very large MSG free buffet). If you don't go during the busy periods, the food is not as good. Best time to go, is at peak times to assure fresh food on the buffet and really good selection. The restaurant has lots of space, so don't worry about waiting for a seat. If you are willing to make the drive into Ottawa to go to the Mandarin Restaurant, the value at this restaurant is not good since for a bit extra the Mandarin offers a lot more selection but you need to drive into the city. If you are feeling lazy and want to stay in town, this is a good Chinese restaurant and has the potential to be better.
Lunch buffet & supper are ok. Family owed. Decent service. Good for a quick meal..nothing special. I'ĺl go again.

It is not a very big buffet compared to say "the Manderine" chain, but I thought it was a good range of products, tasty, and the staff are very friendly. It is large for seating for many.
