The Klay Oven, which delivers wholesome, varied Indian food, has quietly operated on the site for quite a few years now. The hosts are a charming Indian family, we have seen the children grow up as the hard working parents continue to feed folk seeking 'real' food set between the trendy and at times faddish array of dining options in this strip. If you want super hot and spicy, it's there but so is the subtle and del... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Klay Oven:
We usually go to the Spice Avenue at Birkdale, which admittedly sets a high bar, but this was poor food. $12 for over cooked pataks poppadoms. My son's chicken korma had so much salt in it, it was inedible. The pashwari naan was hard. Overall pretty unpleasant. I'd checked out the reviews before ordering so was surprised at how poor this was. If this was my experience of Indian food I would dislike it so please anyon... View all feedback.
Been here many times and never has a bad meal. The butter chicken pizza is a must try. The vegetable samosas are amazing. Plenty of spice and taste in all the curries
This is my go-to Indian in Brisbane. The food is great, the staff are super friendly and I have never been let down. I recommend this place to any of my friends that are looking for good Indian in Brisbane, and they always say the same thing "great food". I have eaten Indian food in many different places all over the world and I would put The Klay Oven up against them anytime. Highly recommended.
Being from London I'm spoilt for choice when ordering Indian/Pakistani cuisine. I've been amazingly disappointed but almost all asian restaurants I've tried in Brisbane.Klay oven does a great job.I've now had it half a dozen times. Real genuine heat. the dry entrees & tandoori cooked dishes are fantastic.. Don't order things that ar'nt genuine dishes (made up for the western market) and you won't be let down.. Would have been a 5 star review if it was a tad cheaper.
Awful food, wasn't proper chicken at all it was chicken thights, I would expect chicken breast when getting a chicken disk especially when there is no vegetables. I got butter chicken which tasted more like chicken stock. Overall very disappointed, awful meal
This was an unplanned visit with no recommendations and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food at this unpretentious restaurant was delicious and authentic and the service was excellent. We only had mains (lamb saag and Punjbi chicken) but golly they were good!
