Crepes are really good and freshly cooked. Coffee was great. Staff helpful and friendly. We stumbled across this cafe (which is tucked away behind the shops on the main road) and were surprised to find how pleasant the atmosphere is. View all feedback.
What Eli Morissette doesn't like about Steel & Grind:
Wasn't sure where this little place at Mt Gravatt so following the numbers on Logan Rd more or less had us right outside. On getting out of the car we thought- where is it? Then I noticed the little sign pointing down the alleyway & down we all marched dog in tow. Flat whites were ordered & they delivered on strength & taste. Small problem the flat whites were not flat, but that can be excused when ... View all feedback.
Amazing little cafe with fabulous crepes and great service. I ate my crepe as well as half of my husband's they were that great. The Acai bowl was fantastic as well with generous services of fruit. Will definitely make this our local...

My partner and I visited this cafe for lunch. It has a good atmosphere with tools as ornaments. The two boys who work here are friendly and love a chat. We had a purple and a white smoothie. Both were delicious. And we each had a crepe. A apple crumble crepe and a ham, cheese, tomato, basil and egg crepe. Both were very tasty. Had to wait a bit to eat them but they are made fresh to order. Will definately come back.
We wanted to visit Steel & Grind again following our first visit just over a month ago. It is the newest café in Mount Gravatt Central. This visit was for lunch on Saturday. The manager was once again very chatty and friendly, and took the time to stop and talk to us, and make us feel like valued customers. Our cappuccinos were excellent again, and the crepes we ordered were freshly made while we waited. We were told that the crepe batter is prepared fresh on site every morning using eggs, milk, flour and butter, and that is how they tasted. (We have eaten a lot of crepes from other cafes in the past which were obviously pre-cooked and then reheated making them limp and soggy.) We enjoyed our second experience very much but we could not connect to their free Wi-Fi (as it wasn't working) and their food prices have increased since our first visit, which is a little disappointing.
First visit to Steel & Grind for lunch today (Friday). It is located right down the back of a laneway off Logan Road but right in the middle of the Mount Gravatt Central shopping strip. We both had a cappuccino which was very well made, full of flavour and not bitter. We ordered savoury crepes which were freshly made while we waited. They didn't look huge when they came out on the plate but they sure were filling. There is also tap water and glasses on the counter. The two male staff were both very friendly and chatty, and we felt welcome and valued. It wasn't busy as this is a new establishment and possibly a bit out of the way if you don't see the signs on the footpath on Logan Road. We would definitely go back again.
