What Gerhard Sawayn doesn't like about Slacks Track Cafe:
Came back again to this restaurant for dessert (Waffles, violet ice cream and berries) with guests from oversea. Very disappointed and not happy as the dessert totally different from the menu. The ice cream is vanilla and no berries at all. Waffles are hard as stone. Have asked the waitress about that and they said run out of violet ice cream and berries. The restaurant was very hot as air con off. Feel very uncomfor... View all feedback.
Came for a brunch and the foods and drinks are amazing. Fantastic customer service and love the food presentation. Cozy atmosphere. Love that restaurant too.
I love this cafe!!! Has been one of my favourite in Brisbane! It's simple but a simple cafe that makes every dish on their menu perfect. I tried many times of the eggs Benedict, still loving it! Love their hollandaise source, it different from other places, that is not over powering, not too creamy, let you able to taste other elements on the plate. Try it with bacon, it's a simple thing, but they do make perfect bacon. I always love to try their specials, the talented chef always amazed me with the flavor! You don't expect fancy stuff but it's a place that makes simple classic ones perfect!
I was surprised to see this coffee shop here as the last time I was in the area it was an Italian restaurant. The coffee is Toby's Estate, always a winner with me. The barista made a good robust flat white for me I was happy to chill out with the pooch there for a while. They also have a good selection of sweet treats to have with the coffee

This might well be a throw back to what kind of food was eaten in rustic times while showcasing the genius of the more modern pallete When being a foodie, as it has been touched upon before, you do want to support your local area and try the new upcomers around you. At the moment that is the case, with a few great ones beginning to make their mark. I had heard from my housemate/dining buddy about this place, and how it does good coffee. He had even had a try of a coffee...read more
Our first time to Slacks Track. Being a local I was keen to try the new cafe on the block. The food was good but overpriced...the beef cheek sandwich was $22. A cosy place and not much parking on the street. We didn't realise it was counter service as no one had metioned this to us when we arrived. Even though it's written in small print on the menu it can be overlooked. I also note the waitstaff's hygiene practices with drying glasses could be addressed. Dropping tea towels to the floor then using these same towels to dry freshly washed glasses.
