What Hákon Munis doesn't like about Riverbend Cafe:
The coffee here is Merlo the morning we had it was only average. The pour was not good there was no crema so pretty weak watery on the verge of being bitter. Food average. I did enjoy my avocado with the tomato salsa, but the partner was expecting leg ham off the bone on his Dutch Hangover breakfast it looked like it was straight out of the supermarket cut in uniform round slices. Good service great food. Breakfast board was perfect. Amazing bakery items. Had a tart and frangipan. Both amazing. Would definitely go all the time!
My parents normally go out to Brekky on Saturdays and a few weekends ago I decided to join them. Riverbend Cafe was absolutely packed!! We were lucky to get a table. There is so much variety on the menu, it was so hard to choose!! I ended up having the spicy caramelised mushrooms, with avo instead of eggs and a side of tomato. It came with a massive slice of sourdough which was super great with the avo and tomato. The mushrooms weren't super duper spicy but they were flavourful and yummy!! I also had an orange juice which was so sweet! Overall, my meal was great and my parents loved their meals as well. The cafe also does really good milkshakes and coffees. After brekky, I had a quick (it was actually more like a half hour!) look in the book store as well and ended up getting a book, yay!! I will definitely come with my parents when they visit Riverbend Cafe again, there's so many things I want to try on the menu!! Update: We returned once again for breakfast this morning, I planned on having the bircher muesli but on arrival found it is pre-made with milk :( Never fear! The kind staff offered to make me the ratatouille as vegan. It was lovely, the flavours were delicious and the baba ghanoush that came with was just as good!! My mum enjoyed the croque madame and my dad loved the vanilla bean risotto. Kudos to the chefs who were kind and accomodating to my dietary needs.

Always crowded deck dining. Good breakfast menu selections. Nasi goreng. Beans. Avo. Ok Merlo coffee. Cakes and muffins. Mums and bubs. Woeful parking. Fantastic book shop adjoining. A place to go if your time is flexible.
Best muesli and berries in town! Great coffee and the service always makes me smile, really enjoy breakfast and brunch at riverbed! Thank you
