Max Brenner - Carindale

This is such a fun place. Great atmosphere but don't come if you don't have a sweet tooth, often we can't finish our dessert because of how sickly sweet they are. It's great for kids and I love that it's open late. That is what Australia needs, more dessert bars that you can get a coffee after dinner or movie and a dessert. I've tried a lot of their things and I love the gifts and I love the dipping things! I'd stick with the smaller desserts as they don't seem to be as sweet. I love their drinks however. Hot chocolates are creamy and chocolatey, their milkshakes and other drinks are great. My absolute favourite thing to get here is the white choc chai drink. Wish they did the white choc chai in take home packets. Service is always really fabulous and the employees are really happy.

I like this Max Brenner, the service is faster than many others and there are often lots of seats. It has its crowded moments but these seem to be fewer than other franchises. Max Brenner is pretty standard but I find this one gives you a very generous serve of ice-cream if you ask for it as an extra.

Overpriced and very ordinary. To start with I must say the brownie was really delicious, the over enthusiastic (verging on fake) customer service guy was nice, he was young though so he got away with the it. That is where the compliments finish. $8.80 for a chocolate milkshake that has so little chocolate flavouring in it that it tasted just like normal milk from a bottle, although Luke warm, the two of us didn't even drink half, it was gag worthy, oh and served in dirty cups. The self service water is great but not when the water glasses are filthy, I'm talking... did they mistake the tray of used glasses for fresh glasses? There were hand smudge marks and lips marks, I asked for a clean glass and it was replaced with a much cleaner glass but was still filthy!!! Overall the whole place was unclean, dirty tables, dirty cabinets, I would hate to see back of house. There are so many nicer cafes in the area that are much better tasting, much better service and that are much cleaner. I instantly regretted walking in and I should have walked out immediately. Bad experience and won't be back EVER to any of their stores.

Was surprised with how quiet this place was on Christmas Eve but that suited us! I tried the tutti fruitti waffle which was ok but the waffle (and the strawberries for that matter) didn't seem that fresh. The service was friendly and efficient but that doesn't save the overpriced desserts.
