We arrived early amidst the morning rush and ordered our breakfast. The waitress was friendly and polite, promptly bringing us table water and glasses. Our cappuccinos arrived quickly and were enjoyable, though a bit on the weak side for those who prefer stronger coffee. Our breakfasts were a good size and beautifully made and presented. The prices were also reasonable. Throughout our visit, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for takeaway coffee, indicating that this cafe is well-loved by locals. We have frequented this place before and have always been satisfied with our experience. It appears that there are new people managing the cafe now, but this change seems to be a positive one.
Came randomly over this place to find a wonderful place that is very cheap with a good menu array and friendly staff. best of all .great coffee, which for us often determines a return journey everywhere!
On Saturday morning, a group of 14 of us visited this restaurant and I must say, I was impressed by the quality, portion sizes, and reasonable prices of the food. The coffee was also fantastic. We were served promptly and the staff were very professional. Many thanks for the great hospitality. Although we are not locals, we will definitely be returning in the future.
This place does a great job providing a hearty brekkie to those who are on the road early, need a quick, decent feed and a good cup of coffee to get going in the morning. Its open early week days (5:30am) but closes by (2pm)....And weekends doesn't open till 7:00am, shuts 2pm on Sat, 12pm on Sun. Its popular and a lot of tradies are there earlier in the morning on their way to their jobs before 7am, and there is a steady stream of locals and those in the know travelling down Creek Rd, stopping in to grab a decent takeaway cup of Merlo Coffee. or having a quick catchup with friends before taking the commute into the city, or after they have dropped the kids off. For Breakfast you can build your own with DIY option where you pick the bread $3, type of eggs $5 and whatever sides you want and they have more than 13 different additional sides available. $3 each. Or you can try from the standard selections on offer. There are some light on options with Fruit and Nut Loaf, a great Herbed Omelette, a Healthy Breakfast and a Big Breakfast plus about 8 others including kids options. These are between $3 and $19. The Coffee is quite good, but not quite as good as some of the other more upscale cafes around the Carindale Camp Hill Coorparoo area. They have the morning papers and a few magazines to read while you are waiting, but the service is pretty quick. I had a queue of about 3 people in front and my omelette was served in a about 10 mins. The coffee in 5 min. Good value, and tasty, wont break the bank.
We sprung a group of on this place early on Saturday morning. I must say i was impressed by both quality, quantity and reasonable cost of the food and the coffee was awesome too. We were all served in a timely fashion as the...regulars streamed through the place for their take away caffeine fix. Top marks for friendliness and professionalism of the staff too. Thanks very much for your hospitality. We've moved away now, we were local....but we'll be back!
