Nice meal with friends in a lovely waterfront setting. Service from the waiter who took our order and waitress who took drinks order was friendly and efficient but greeting on arrival was poor as I was told they could not find my booking. What User doesn't like about Zizzi Mermaids Quay:
When we arrived, we were informed that our reservation had not been noted, making the booking feel pointless. The staff seemed distracted, almost floating around the restaurant while sipping drinks and chatting, clearly oblivious to the customers and their needs. Occasionally, they’d stop by our table to check if we were ready to place an order, but only after a long wait. The food arrived in small batches, and we ev... View all feedback.
Amazing family meal all the staff looked after everyone at the table and food was spot on... and so were the desserts and coffee... the children loved it.
Astonishing family dinner all the staff cared for each at the table and eating was in place, and so were the desserts and coffee. the children loved it.

Really basic. Cocktails were not nice and presented really poorly. Food tasted like they were ready meals warmed up. Never will go again. Prezzo is so much nicer.
We were searching for a place near the Millennium Centre for a quick meal before the opera, and Italian cuisine seemed like a fitting choice. The restaurant is spacious and filled with light, making it a popular spot for young families in the early evening. Given our time constraints, we decided on pasta and informed our waitress that we needed to eat quickly. Our dishes—pasta della casa and crab cannelloni—arrived promptly, and both were delightful. The house pasta, which featured oven-baked casareccia pasta, roasted chicken, pancetta, baby spinach, and riserva cheese in a creamy sauce, was rich and satisfying. The cannelloni was a lighter option but equally delicious. While Zizzi isn't fine dining, it's certainly great for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. This location offers stunning views of Cardiff Bay, and its close proximity to the Millennium Centre makes it an ideal spot for a pre-show dinner.
