What footballwatford123 doesn't like about The Sandringham:
Location for the Cardiff nightlife, fantastic. At £158 for a twin room, expensive for what is a very tired hotel. Ideal for a boozy weekend for a group of guys or girls. Would I use it for a romantic weekend with my wife? No. Breakfast, the produce was very cheap. In particular their use of sausages which was really synthetic and disgusting. Staff, lovely. Hotel A1 clean. View all feedback.

I had a fantastic experience at this two-star hotel in the heart of Cardiff city center. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and my room was impeccably clean (even the shower rails were spotless)! I was given a peaceful room on the fourth floor at the rear of the building, providing privacy and tranquility. The weekend full-cooked breakfast for £7 was a great deal. I appreciated having a bathtub and iron in my room. I will definitely choose to stay here whenever I'm in Cardiff. I highly recommend this hotel.
The restaurant is located in a perfect location, surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants. It is easily accessible from the train station and there is a nearby parking lot. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with friendly staff who are always willing to assist. The breakfast is delicious and served by the friendly family owners of the restaurant. Alison, who manages the reception, is exceptional and welcoming. The other staff members are also fantastic, friendly, and always willing to help. I highly recommend staying here and booking through the hotel website or by phone. I will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Stayed one night as going to a show in the castle. Hotel is really really old and very dated. Cost £89 for the night so cheap and we were not expecting luxury but we were disappointed in the state of the fixtures and furnishings. Hotel is opposite a bar/club which boomed out music til 3am even though it was a Monday so little sleep was had. Have to say all the staff were very pleasant and the bedding and towels were clean but not somewhere we would stay again.
Currently staying at this hotel during a friends birthday weekend to the city. We paid approximately £30/£40 a night for rooms sharing between three. On arrival staff were friendly and give us a few ground rules (big group of lads, damage/sick warnings etc… they sorted out rooms quick and efficiently. I have a room on the fourth floor (higher the better, the hotel is above a club the rooms are ace. Very clean, coffee and biscuits and towels to use. The rooms are dated, but it’s not a problem at all. At this price you just want somewhere clean with a nice shower. If your with family and want somewhere calm, avoid. If your with friends and need somewhere clean with great location next to the pubs. I would recommend staying here.
