I had a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant. They offer both large and smaller portions, and you can also get takeout. The food is freshly made at home and very delicious. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Pineapple Pub:
This pub is a dump. Avoid!!! Knock it down and plant a tree! The surrounding are rubbish and lit by a florescent tube and the decor os very poor. Not a nice pub. Visit Whitchurch/ Llandaff City pubs instead!! View all feedback.
The Pineapple serves good honest pub grub at excellent prices. I often meet a friend for lunch and a good natter and we share a bottle of wine at a very reasonable price too. Food is from around £2.99 to around £7.99 and we usually can't resist the sticky toffee pudding afterwards either (a bargain at around £2.50). Sunday lunch is well worth trying too. Lovely freshly cooked meat with a pile of different vegetables and roast potatoes and delicious gravy. A heaped plate for £5.99. It's hardly worth the effort of cooking at home! Well worth a visit.
I have had the fish and chips several times at this pub. The fish is superb. Prime cod (no skin) flesh white and moist. Batter thin and crispy. Piping hot. Spoken to the landlady the fish is fresh and cooked to order. It comes in two sizes, regular (which would be big in most restaurants) and whopping! I had the large, my 2 companions had the regular. We also had a bottle of NZ Sauvignon blanc and a half of cider. The bill was an incredible £24.97! Great food and value for money, what more could you want. The pub is not gastro more a working class family pub. It does have a very pretty garden and the staff are friendly and welcoming. They also do a cracking Home cooked Sunday lunch which is very popular.
Since Lidl knocked down the skittle alley at the back and the pub changed managment (during covid) the place has gone to the dogs. Rough (very), run down, dirty, no real ales anymore, no food, the lounge room smells disgusting and the staff grumpy and unhelpful.
From the first glance it's an unloved run down pub side of pub full of broken fridges and litter zero respect for neighbours or other people in neighbourhood inside grotty and dirty avoid
Lots of things to do, but no food available right now. Perfect spot to stop by on your way home from work or shopping.
