I'll start by saying there's nothing at all wrong with this little teashop. The service is attentive and there is a large selection of teas. I did feel a little like I was putting out the owner by going in. There is no opportunity to look out of a window and it feels a little bizarre, like being in someone's living room. What Chiamaka Aderonke doesn't like about The Apothecary Shop Tea Room:
Having just had a horrible experience at the local library, I found myself desperate for somewhere to feel calm and drink tea...low and behold, The Apothecary'. When I first went in, I was the only person there and it was so quiet; a little eery....I had a green tea with lemon and loved the little tea pot and tea cup. The cakes looked very tempting too. First visit to the tea room today but definitely won’t be the last, great selection of savoury and cake, including vegan. Quirky atmosphere with a warm welcome. Really enjoyed our food and drinks looking forward to trying an afternoon tea. Opportunities to sit inside or out in a lovely garden area. Thank you
We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Apothecary. Tasty vegetarian sandwiches, beautiful mini cakes, wonderful meringues, and shiny scones with plenty of cream and jam, all served on vintage porcelain. My wife particularly enjoyed the Grannies Garden fruit tea, very tasty. Great atmosphere with cool decor and good music, nothing was too much trouble for Michele, she really made my wife's birthday special with small touches. Thanks to everyone for a delightful afternoon and very full bellies. We look forward to visiting again.
An interesting and unique team room on Llandaff Road, ideal for a morning coffee, a light lunch, or an afternoon tea. I visited with a friend for coffee followed by a lunch of broccoli soup with sourdough bread and a delicious slice of lemon and blueberry tart. The food was beautifully served on colorful china on an embroidered tablecloth and it was nice to be pampered. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, and we were able to catch up without feeling rushed. We will return next time we are in Canton and would recommend it to my friends.
After a negative experience at the local library, I was in need of a calm environment to relax and enjoy some tea. Luckily, I stumbled upon 'The Apothecary'. When I first entered, I was the only customer and the quiet atmosphere was a bit eerie. I ordered a green tea with lemon and appreciated the charming tea pot and cup. The selection of cakes also looked delicious. As more customers arrived, they spoke in hushed tones, almost as if they were afraid of making too much noise. The ambiance improved once the staff put on some music. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that I would recommend to others.

Cakes on offer and light snacks. Everything is served in old fashioned teacups and pots and the tables are adorned with old-style tablecloths. It didn't do it for me as felt a bit uneasy. There is a good selection of loose teas etc in the front which is nice. Some of the stock is not akin to a teashop with spoils the flow but there are some interesting nic-naks too.
