Great LGBTQ+ friendly bar, music was excellent and the drinks not too bad bar area gets very busy but the staff manage it well, some seating and great little dance floor area too.
Spent a few nights here after pre-drinks in Kings just opposite great club great music and great entertainment the drag act on Wednesday amazing and funny wish I had caught her name saw 2 of her shows if in Cardiff you have to have a night in pulse the staff and locals are so nice and welcoming they will make sure you have a great time and a special shout out to Nicole thankyou we will miss you x
Such a shame......what a good night it was until the end....when after the host singing there was a person known to them (either employee or other) then it became about them and not the audience brought the mood right down to the point people started leaving or not joining in....
I was spiked last night, in no way am I saying that it's the fault of the club, I've been there quite a few times and always had an amazing night. Just wanted to post a thank you to the awesome security that looked after me, I'm so glad they took the time to look after me and make sure I got home safe! xxx
Pulse Cardiff is one of the most poorly run, toxic venues in the city. It hides behind a reputation of being inclusive, but in reality, it’s inconsistent, discriminatory, and filled with power-tripping staff who create more problems than they solve. There is no real dress code policy, yet security regularly turns people away based on personal bias or how someone “looks” — while letting others in wearing costumes, casual clothes, or barely anything. It’s selective enforcement at best, outright discrimination at worst. The bar staff are rude and unprofessional, often overcharging people for basic mixers and getting defensive or aggressive when questioned about it. Reports of drinks being tampered with, watered down, or deliberately altered are not uncommon — and that is completely unacceptable. Management and security clearly lack training in both customer service and safety. There are multiple reports of victims being ignored, mocked, or accused of lying when trying to report harassment or unsafe situations. This is a venue that puts people at risk by refusing to take complaints seriously. Their inflated egos are clearly doing overtime to make up for whatever they’re lacking elsewhere — because there is zero professionalism, maturity, or respect shown to the people keeping the place open. For a place that claims to be a safe space, Pulse fails on every level — respect, accountability, consistency, and basic decency. It’s an embarrassment to Cardiff’s nightlife and to the LGBTQ+ community it pretends to support. I genuinely hope this place gets investigated, reported, and shut down. It doesn’t deserve the licence it holds. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
