Cafe 14 is located in the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, offering a wide range of hot and cold food and drinks, along with a variety of cakes and treats. Enjoy free WiFi, function rooms for hire, and exciting quiz nights every Wednesday at 8:30pm with a chance to win a large cash prize. Catch all the BT Sports Premier Sports action here. Plus, have fun with the pool table and darts board available for use. We serve Cakes Light Bites from Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4pm, and our Daily Menu is available Monday to Friday, 12pm-8:30pm.

Yesterday, we discovered this cafe located on the grounds of the UHW. Our overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Despite the Manager wearing a mask, he took the time to chat with us. The coffee, toastie, and cheesy chips were all delicious. Our food was brought to our table by a very pleasant lady. The prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to this cafe in the future.
You get what you pay for ultimately and I really get that, and it is so true here in this cafe. The coffee was really nice to be honest and the barista was very friendly and chatty, even offered a recommendation from the food menu. However, the speed of the food being prepared leaves a lot to be desired. The chef is quite possibly the angriest looking most miserable man in the world unfortunately, he is like this with the staff and customers. Maybe he lost his passion for food long ago and this tells in his lack of 'love ' put into his food and the slowness of the service being delivered. Would I recommend it......hmmmmm in truth yes for a coffee, no for food unless you have a lot of time to kill and wait for it.
We came here during a break from manual handling training and the late I had was smooth and mild. Very nice and would recommend it. Shame it was packed during our lunch break as we were going to have a toastie

Popped along to have a cuppa here while waiting for hospital appointment. It has been tastefully refurbished since my last visit is now a very pleasant area to sit. I was delighted by selection of cakes to go with a nice cup of coffee I'll happily visit next time.
