Peanut - Carbondale
Peanut
Description
Nestled as a lively neighborhood bar and kitchen, this spot pairs an atmospheric interior and attentive staff with bar favorites—crispy wings, pretzels with beer cheese, steak-and-cheese egg rolls and solid cocktails—making it a regular haunt for locals, meetings and trivia nights. Guests praise service, value and standout dishes, though occasional inconsistency (notably pizza and takeout delays) and a reported restroom soap shortage temper the experience. Overall, a vibrant, good-value place best enjoyed with friends or for casual evenings.

We are always pleased when we visit the Peanut Bar. The food and service are consistently excellent. We especially enjoy dining on the back deck in the fresh air.
We were visiting from out of town and were really glad we decided to stop by. The service was prompt and friendly. The recent renovations featuring waterfront seating by a charming stream definitely enhanced our experience! Don't miss out on the fried cheese! Although it’s labeled as a bar, it's definitely a family-friendly place. This is small-town hospitality at its finest! We'll definitely return.
I attended trivia night at this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The fresh-cut fries were disappointing, but the coconut shrimp was incredible. I should mention that after expressing my concerns, they surprisingly removed the fries from my bill. Overall, the service matched the friendly atmosphere of the bar.
