When we were in Capitola, we went to the Whole Foods Store in Capitola . They have lots of great food. Although prices are a bit higher, quality is very good. Service was good too. View all feedback.
What Joy T doesn't like about Allegro Coffee:
With the coronavirus, I wish they would be better on giving personal space. When you ask a question, the staff will touch you as they answer and I was standing between a bag checker (who wasn't even filling my bags) as he was chatting up the woman on the other side of me and they squished me in, seriously inches apart...very uncomfortable and inappropriate anyway, but especially at a time like this. Managers, please... View all feedback.
All around bad. Unclear pricing and employees who don 't understand the prices in their own departments. Cashier needed help with my transaction of one simple item, which wouldn 't bother me except they walked away without telling me what was going on. So I was waiting for my change and having random people walking around, touching my food, getting in my 6 foot bubble it got weird. I just couldn 't deal with it on top of the stress of covid, so I asked and nobody had an explanation of what was going on. So I took back my money and left. It was so disappointing. I mentioned it to the older guy at the door and he told me I don 't know. You might have just got what you deserved. Despite our pleasant small talk as I waited in line for store entry. It was just all really unprofessional but the comment on my way out was just too personal, rude and unprofessional I have to give them 1 star and will never shop at this location again.
I like this grocery store. Been going here for 6 years. Just find it pretty annoying that the staff pries into my personal business every time I come. Secondly, I also find it annoying that they won 't take no for an answer when I say I want to bag my own groceries. It 's freaking global pandemic!! Back the fudge off! How hard is it to respect people 's wishes to bag their own food that they 'll be eating?... and how hard is it to not be like so, what are you getting into today? Or what are you gonna do with all this food? Or any big plans for the weekend? D freaking questions!!: Obviously gonna eat the food! I 'm sorry that the management presses the employees to act like they are selling shirts in a freaking Zumiez store!! Furthermore, it 's not just me. It creeps my wife out and a few other friends I have talked to this about as well. Quit doing it please and let me bag my own groceries without being pushy!!! Just trying to get my groceries and get out. It 's not like I 'm gonna go shop somewhere else if some rando cashier doesn 't act like they wanna hang out with me after their shift. Just sayin '

This is just about the hot food bar, as I really haven 't been getting much of anything else, except they do have pretty good pies in the bakery and I like the rhubarb, which I never saw anyplace else. But getting to the hot food bar. They used to have these great, tasty different kinds of chicken, and rotated the types about every ten days or two weeks. Really good chicken. THEN....all of a sudden, just like the government, corporate completely stopped that! I called in just today about it, and the guy who runs the hot food bar (I forget his name, but what difference does it make anyhow) and spoke with him about this, and he seemed to think most people like the 'new ' changes. So I am an odd duck and I suppose he was sort of telling me that I was wasting my time. So I guess it is good bye chicken. I 'm not hot food buying anymore.
I come here 2+ times a week for lunch and shop for the things I need for the week but defiantly making less of a trip here after what I witnessed. A homeless man with his own utensils and salad bowl went to the salad hot bar and FILLED his bowl to the brim, then walked to the tables they have inside and just sat down, didn't even pay for anything he just helped himself to whatever he wanted. Then, got back up to get a bowl of soup. Completely unsanitary! Glad to know if I don't feel like paying to eat here, I don't have to.
