My experience was quite disappointing. I found it frustrating that the staff debated whether to seat us, and I was put off by the chef's dismissive attitude. While the waiters were attentive, the food was unappetizing and resembled canned spaghetti. I won't be returning.

What started as a lovely Saturday lunch with my mom turned into a major disappointment due to the front-of-house service. I tried to make a reservation three times by phone, but no one answered. When we arrived, we requested a table for two. The restaurant was full inside, except for two cramped tables in a corner and three empty tables outside. Despite the beautiful, sunny summer day, we were told we could only sit inside. We wanted to enjoy the fresh air and feel safe while social distancing. I asked multiple times to sit outside, but the hostess repeatedly said no, giving a peculiar explanation that the chef didn’t want to see customers sitting outside as it might upset him. I found this hard to believe, especially since there were other patrons outside and tables available. Ultimately, we chose to go to Blockhouse, where we had an amazing five-star lunch experience on their terrace. It’s such a shame we couldn't have the same experience at La Grotto!

On October 3rd, my wife made a dinner reservation at La Grotto for Friday, October 6th. She booked it online and confirmed the reservation with a call later that day. However, on the afternoon of Friday, October 6th, just a few hours before our dinner, my wife received a call informing her that our reservation had been canceled due to a large booking, and we could no longer be accommodated. This experience was completely unacceptable, and we will not be returning to this restaurant. Truly disappointing, La Grotto. Your conduct is unacceptable.
