John Dory's - Feedback

Was User at John Dory's a mag?
I was really impressed with the portion size of the dish I ordered. I'm a big eater, and I was dining with my partner—we shared the plate, and I was still left feeling quite full. I would definitely recommend the Sunday special for R200! View all feedback.
What Clyde O dislikes about John Dory's:
Wished they had better staff and better etiquette. Their waiters look and talk to you with frustration and pain when you ask them questions about the meals. Their quality of sushi rice has gone bad as it feels like sand in your mouth; and as for their fish and chip dishes, it leaves their sushi meals as something as much left to be desired. As a member, I'm deeply disappointed. Its a NO THANKS for me anymore. View all feedback.

The waitstaff were friendly and promptly attended to us. The sushi was not only visually stunning but also incredibly fresh. The grilled shrimp and calamari were equally impressive. The strawberry cooler was fantastic, filled with delightful chunks of real fruit, including strawberries and mint leaves.
Fantastic freshly made sushi full of taste and tasteful Twas the best and half price even better
I had John dory's delivered to my work for the first time ever for lunch and honestly I was not expecting what I got. The fish was so fresh and so good. It literally melted in my mouth and the sushi was bomb. Like a literal burst of flavour in my mouth. Fortune cookie brought me good luck so that was an extra. Definitely my new favorite fish and chip restaurant.
Food was really fresh and tasty. Don't overlook John Dory's, food tasted way better than ocean basket

The waitress was extremely friendly, and the food was both fresh and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was! I will definitely be returning with more friends.
I ordered a delivery from here through Mr D, and the fish and chips were among the best I've ever had. The hake was incredibly fresh, the batter was crispy, and the hand-cut chips were a delightful mix of thick and thin, which I really enjoyed. The generous portion of lemon butter sauce was a great addition as well. The sushi and prawns tempura were also quite good. The food arrived hot, but it would have been nice if they had included cutlery with the order.
John Dory's was where I had sushi for the first time and their prawn avalanche used to be my absolute favourite. It was half price sushi last night (Wednesdays) so one can expect it to be busy, but the wait was longer than necessary. We were seated right at the back, close to the kids play area so will suggest sitting at the belt to just grab your sushi if you're hungry and not playing around. We had the prawn and cheese spring rolls which were good, but the sushi was just average.
I ordered the platter for two. The portions of chips and rice could be a bit larger, considering it's meant for two people. The prawns were absolutely delicious, and the spices really enhanced their flavor. The calamari strips were decent but nothing special. The sole fish was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly; even as someone who typically avoids ordering fish, I really enjoyed it. The mussels were just okay. As for the sushi, it resembled egg yolks but tasted fantastic when dipped in soy sauce mixed with a bit of wasabi (yum)!
Great service from the moment we entered. <br/ <br/ I ordered their 12 piece sushi platter and my friend ordered their Strawberry and Cream Pudding(Sushi from their vegetarian menu. I had a taste of my friend 's sushi because I was intrigued by the combo and it wasn 't bad at all. Tasted more like strawberries and cream mixed with rice than anything else : ' <br/ <br/ My sushi was good. Definitely not something to write home about but good nonetheless. <br/ <br/ I also ordered the Meander Platter(Prawns, Calamari Strips, Basa Fillet and Mussels in a Creamy Garlic Sauce to take home and I must say, I was really happy. The Mussels in the sauce were the best part of the combo with the Prawns following right after. Everything else was just okay.<br/ <br/ It was my first time a John Dory 's franchise before and I wasn 't disappointed.

The mussels appetizer was fantastic, featuring a rich garlic and cream sauce that was simply delightful. It was served with a bun, which unfortunately was a bit stale.
Our favorite sushi spot! Everything is fresh and delicious!

Great place for kids! While the service could use some improvement, it's still a solid choice for a family outing. The food isn't bad either!
Had a very good meal and value for money.
