Diemersdal is no doubt a favorite far beyond the Durbanville hills. Their generous outdoor seating area is covered by a grape vine trellis. The staff are quite friendly and pleased to help you try any wine you'd like. Regardless of your tastes, the tasting fee is waived with a purchase of only R400 or less (many Durbanville wineries have adopted a 6, 12 or 18 bottle requirement to waive the tasting fee). I have been to this place so many times, but this past Saturday was the last for me. We took visitors from Johannesburg to this farm and the first thing the waitress said to us was “if you guys dont mind, can you order the same wines so I dont have to bring 7 bottles at once please”.
