Sea Glass is one of our favorite restaurants! We live locally but we’re located inland, so when we want to escape to an ocean venue, this is our first choice for fine dining. What Generic D doesn't like about Sea Glass:
The hostess was lovely, and started the dining experience off well. Unfortunately that was the high point of the experience and things progressed downhill from that point. The food was middling to fine. The wait staff was non existent. Management dropped by overly frequently and had good intentions but missed the mark by a mile. Very good breakfasts in nice setting by friendly staff. Added attractions of lots of guests dogs at breakfast.

Really delicious food with an Argentinian flair in a pompous, over the top atmosphere for those that want to be like One-Percenters. What were WE doing there? Well, we'd been out to the beach, and our favorite restaurant was closed for some reason. So we looked in Google Maps, and this place was close. Kind felt like we were the Beverly Hillbillies walking in there. The food WAS outstanding, though, and I tried my best to not spit tobacco on the floor.

The place is very pretty. My wife and I both went there for dinner and had the Gulf of Maine Lobster for our main dish. It was very good, but not great. The New England Clam and the Watermelon Gazpacho were just OK. We split an order of Deviled Eggs, and that was both interesting and good. Sea Glass is not cheap, which we knew going in, and while we enjoyed our dinner there, we found there to be better alternatives in the Portland area at this price point. Also, the waitress we had was VERY chatty with other customers during our time there. These long conversations were taking place while we were waiting for our dishes to come to our table. Others ended up bringing out our food, but I'm not sure if that's how they normally do it, or they were helping her out because she was busy talking to others.
