The Trail - Canmore

Asked for a king bed when booking room. Received a two Queen. The room smelled of onion and dog when we checked in. Asked if we could move to a none pet friendly room. Was told to wait in the room on a call. 35min later, no call. Talked to front desk lady she told me she would call my cell phone. No call. Returned to hotel at 8:00pm and was told there was no other room, and that housekeeping did not and will not clean the room or freshen it up. Then stubbed my foot on the broken pillar of the bed. Head board has some nice holes and wear marks. Pic 1 The desk has moldy stains under the glass. Pic 2 Broken bed pillar Pic 3 I’ve stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns due to my work and never experienced anything as disgusting and less accommodating. May be time for new management.

Very very clean. Great staff. Breakfast offered needs to be switched up. Veggie fratada got old really quick. Fresh fruit tray would be great. Jacuzzi loft suite was amazing, two bathrooms. Heard the hotel has been sold and will be renovated.

There wasn’t a problem or situation that Harshman on the FD couldn’t fix. He was 100% kind and professional . The lobby was clean, elevators efficient. The only disappointment was onsite restaurant I give them 1* due to inconsistent hours …. Expected to have Sunday dinner there … shocked when closed! What tourist town restaurant closes at 5pm?

I found the hotel and our room to be very clean and attractive. We had a minor problem in our room upon arrival and it was promptly and satisfactorily taken care of by maintenance. The housekeeping staff were frequently seen cleaning rooms and public areas. The room was well designed to be comfortable and spacious to meet a traveler's needs. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. A young man at the front desk was especially helpful when I needed assistance in printing some pages while using the business center computer. The hotel is located near the interstate for easy access but far enough off the road to be in a quiet location. I do agree with other reviewers that for the price a substantial breakfast should be included in the price of the room.

We were passing through Canmore and pulled off the highway to sleep for a few hours. I was kinda put off by the price at first $319 per night) but we weren’t about to go searching for something cheaper at 1:00AM with a screaming baby. In the morning we discovered the room was less than clean. A section of peeling wallpaper in the bathroom revealed a patch of black mold. Long black hairs were in the sink, shower, and walls. Shower curtain rod was starting to fall off the wall. The shower was partially plugged and water would pool in the tub while showering. I left my phone number and info with the attendant at the front desk as I wanted to speak to a manager about our issues. I also emailed the hotel describing all the issues and asked specifically to speak to a manager, still no word from anybody 5 days later.
