We stopped by walking to the market today because we wanted a quick cup and the sign said best coffee in town! Well! I suppose it holds pretty true! The lattes were excellent. The interior was pretty packed with people who has sat down with their mugs and friends or S.O., having a cup and a snack. Upon entry, it looks as though the entire place is an eclectic market, but once you step just a couple feet into the place you can start to see the coffee bar. When you step up to the coffee area you can see your left there is seating for people who would like to have their coffee to sit in. We were so delighted with the barista for giving us precious designs on our to go lattes, especially a little heart less than 24 hours after we get engaged. It 's like he knew! We gave them 4 stars ONLY because: they do not offer drip coffee I had trouble finding where to put my water glass I wanted them to have a wider selection of pastries to eat in with the cuppa.
We were craving a good cup of coffee as we were walking in downtown Canmore. We can across a little shop of hand crafted canned goods. This wonderful gentleman from behind the counter saw us looking at the product and also suggested to try the best coffee in town crafted from a very old espresso machine. We had a cup of Dulce Latte with artistic leaf design made from the cream. Was so creamy and flavourful we could have had many more cups!! He did not lie, that cup of coffee was the best I have ever had!
The perfect blend of café and Specialty Food Market. Go there for a cappuccino and pastry, panini for lunch or a salami and cheese platter and glass of wine any time. You can shop for gourmet goodies and enjoy a relaxed and simple meal all at the same time. Mountain Mercato has definitely expanded over the years. The gourmet market offers an array of speciality items that range from fresh bread to charcuterie and cheese to imported italian tuna, sardines and other preserved meats. Olive oils and balsamics, imported crackers, pastas and much more. It's worth a visit to checkout all the goodies. The cafe menu is simple and quite perfect for a light meal or snack. They have a La Marzocco espresso machine too.
The Mountain Mercato has CLOSED PERMANENTLY. We will miss it!! There is a sign on the door and the business has been cleared out.
