Vecchio Torchio - CANELLI

We walked up and up and up from town on market day. Arriving at 13.00 it was very quiet, in fact we appeared to be the only customers. A very friendly welcome in Italian and English and we opted or the full offering of three antipasti, two primo, one secondo, a dessert and coffee and wine for 25€. Immediately a litre of naturalle and a litre of frizzante water was placed on the table and replenished throughout the meal. For every course we were offered second helpings. The half litre of home produced Barbera was very good. All the food was fresh and nicely presented and Piedmontese, we could not have wanted for better. A delight.

Absolutely fantastic! Journey through all local specialties from the area, delicious homemade food. We had dessert, aperitif, 5 courses, unlimited white and red wine, grappa and coffee/tea for only 100€ total for 4 people- unbeatable

Visiting the area for a group Pilate retreat @pilatesbodycenter and this was recommended as a nearby place to get dinner. They were very responsive to my reservation request and suggested a Prix fix meal. What a wonderful meal for a great price! They even accommodated a vegetarian in my group without notice. Great house wine too!

Difficile da trovare, il navigatore fa casino perciò piuttosto telefonate e fatevi spiegare. Sulla strada del rientro verso casa, dopo questi bellissimi giorni trascorsi nelle Langhe e Roero, ci fermiamo nel Monferrato per un ultimo pranzo piemontese. Il posto è proprio rustico, semplice e accogliente, in mezzo alla natura. Tutto buono e casalingo, vino compreso. Abbiamo preso litri per asporto di Barbera sfuso di un buono! E a un prezzo onestissimo. Si possono acquistare altri prodotti tipici da portare a casa. Consigliato !

Per quello che costa menu'con antipasto,bis di primi ,secondo ,contorno bevande e dolci) e'imbattibile;il locale e'caotico in quanto preso d'assalto per ovvi motivi( si mangia e si beve a poco prezzo).
