It's a nice, warm spot with cool decor for lunch... read more I've been to Tupelo twice now. The first time, I ordered a tomato toastie and coffee and they were super great. It's a nice, warm spot with cool decor for lunch. Then today there were two sandwiches on the menu, and one of the staffmembers said there was also a turkey sandwich. I asked what was in the turkey one, and he said "turkey". I was pretty surprised when I took a bit of my toastie and it had bacon in it. I don't eat bacon for ethical reasons, and I would have appreciated being told that it had bacon in it, especially because I asked. This does explain why the toastie was $4 more expensive than the ones actually on the menu.

They take coffee-making seriously here.Friendly staff, plenty of seating, if you can cope with sitting on milk crates without any backs. Food was tasty and served promptly. But it's the coffee that Tupelo is developing their reputation for- best in Canberra? Possibly!
