Spicy Ginger advertises an all-you-can-eat yum-cha option, but my wife and I found that after 11 dishes, the staff stopped providing any table service and ignored us. They seemed to avoid making eye contact in case we asked for more food. The quality of the yum-cha was average at best, and the claim of unlimited servings is not accurate.

Avoid this place if you are looking for Yum Cha experience. If you are here to meet and greet friends, it is a good space to sit and talk. It has a high rating as one of the top 3 yum Cha restaurant, but I am suspecting it was a paid article. No tea first of all just plain tap water, then the dumplings and tim sums are straight from frozen at Costco and supermarkets. So why pay $22 for buffet yum cha? It is really to catch up with friends who cannot travel around.

Hands down my favourite in Canberra for 2 reasons, firstly the food quality is excellent, secondly, it’s ALL YOU CAN EAT. Yes you read that correctly, for the very reasonable price of $20, you can eat Yum Cha to your heart’s content. Located on Childer’s Street in the city, it’s very conveniently located and easy to get to (parking is no issue on the weekend). The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the service is great (no death stares when you order yet another plate of dumplings) and even when busy, it’s very quick. This is your perfect spot for both weekday and weekend! Read more on Spicy Ginger on . Please right click open the link in a new window. When: Open Tuesday – Sunday 11:30am – 2:30pm, 5 – 10pm (Yum Cha only at lunch) Address: 2/25 Childers St, Canberra ACT 2601 Cons: None Pros: Ahem… Hello? ALL YOU CAN EAT! What to order: Try one of everything. You want to get your monies worth! But honestly the calamari and pork ribs are bang on. Ginseng The Hellenic Club, Woden Located in the Hellenic Club, this Chinese gem was my second favourite for Yum Cha. Positively bustling with vibe and people, it has both atmosphere and excellent food offerings. Although I found it rather hard to get the attention of the bossy trolley attendants, once the food came, my frustration was over! From buns to dumplings, and noodles to desserts, all the food was fresh, tasty and not overly salted. If you live Southside, or playing the slots is your thing, Ginseng is the perfect spot to have lunch and play. When: Yum Cha on Saturday, Sunday Monday. Open for lunch dinner Monday – Sunday. Address: Matilda Street, Woden ACT 2606 Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Service, somewhat pricey What to order: Whitebait and the chicken wings. And DEFINITELY order the mango pancakes if they have them. Dumpling Inn, Macquarie (Jamison Shops) Located near Jamison shops, this suburban restuarant serves up a pretty mean Yum Cha. Don’t be fooled by the somewhat drab atmosphere, their dumplings and chine

I absolutely adore Spicy Ginger Cuisine! It is without a doubt my top restaurant in Canberra. The food is top-notch and comes at a very reasonable price. The staff is incredibly friendly as well. I make sure to go there at least once a week for a delightful and nutritious treat. I highly recommend it.

I enjoy the Xinjiang Chicken at this restaurant and always go with friends to indulge in it. The mushroom soup is flavorful, but I have a feeling it may be loaded with MSG. Despite that, it's a great place to gather with a large group of people.
