Contribute Feedback What Bulah Adams likes about Jehangir Indian Restaurant:
We had an entree we had never had before and it was potatoes with spinach and coriander fritters in a spicy sauce. Very nice contrast of hot and cold, smooth and crunchy. We had the goat curry and beef vindaloo and both were very tasty. We also had a special naan which was filled with anchovy, garlic and cheese. We thought this might be a bit odd with Indian food, but it was terrific. Staff were friendly and helpful... View all feedback.

That's not a complaint - I'm happy that its not crowded but this really must be one of Canberra's best-kept Indian cuisine secrets. Top notch food every time, and definitely the best Keema Naan I've tasted in Canberra.
This restaurant has very nice Indian food. The staff are pleasant and obliging. The goat curry was delightefull as was the chicken with mint yoghurt. The food was generous serves and the garlic naan bread was very pleasing.
I've gotten delivery order from this restaurant twice now and in general I have been very happy. The order have been on time, at a reasonable cost, and tasted great.I have ordered the entrée of Murg Tikka (great!), and mains of Butter Chicken and Lamb Korma (both very good) with boiled rice. My only comment was that the amount of meat in the dishes was a little on the low side: that being said the taste was still fantastic.I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian food.

Having lived at Swinger Hill for many years, we were regular customers at Jehangir, where we ate very well and often. So, on a recent return trip to Canberra, we thought we would visit it again. It is under new management and has changed its décor a little. On our arrival on a Friday night, it was all but deserted – one table occupied, when other restaurants close by were crowded. Feeling somewhat uncertain, we checked TripAdvisor reviews outside the restaurant and were somewhat heartened. In hindsight, we discovered many were from infrequent contributors. We shall say no more, but suggest that recent reviews be read with a fair degree of scepticism. Feel free to check our review history! After ordering, we received our mixed entree relatively quickly - some pieces were good but others quite dried out and not terribly edible. As the restaurant was very quiet and we were located at a table close to the kitchen door (more of that in a moment), we were somewhat perplexed by the lack of normal sounds emanating from a kitchen (pans banging etc), and by the regular disappearance of the cook down a corridor with a frying pan. The kitchen door has seen many a better day, and the missing slats and its general state of disrepair and dirtiness should have set alarms bells off …Shortly after commencing our main course, my husband began to feel quite unwell. We made our apologies, paid and left quickly. My husband spent most of the remaining night feeling sick and sitting on the toilet. We would have to say it was one of our worst meals ever. It has been given a rating of one, simply because there is no lower rating. In our years contributing to TripAdvisor, we have never rated anywhere as low. We think it very sad that the new owners are trading on – and trashing – the very good name that Jehangir had.
