We were very pleasantly surprised with our experience here. Although essentially dining in a garden atrium, the gas heaters kept us nicely cosy. We were impressed by the menu and the pork and lamb main courses that we ordered were delicious. Unfortunately we weren't hungry enough to try the delicious sounding entrees and desserts. What Reynold Weissnat doesn't like about Atrium Restaurant & Bar @ The Pavilion Northbourne:
I've stayed at the adjoining Aria Hotel numerous times and have always had the buffet breakfast here (with other work colleagues).Eggs (you can order special ones if wanted) are nearly always scrambled (slightly watery). Potatoes, sausages, bacon, beans, occasionally tomatoes make up the bulk of the hot food.Free coffee is nespresso. Bakery items look nice and there are about 3 juices to choose from.Convenient and it... View all feedback.
My first time to this restaurant was a pleasant experience. The menu was varied and my meal was excellent. The other diners at my table were pleasantly surprised as well. The service was also excellent.
We booked the Atrium restaurant for dinner near where we were staying. We all had a lovely meal and the service was great. Lovely surroundings at night with gas heaters and fairy lights.
We spend a couple of nights at Canberra's Pavilion Hotel, and dined at the hotel's Atrium restaurant on one of them. We had been less than thrilled by our hotel suite, so were pleasantly surprised by our experience at the restaurant. The airy garden' setting...of the Atrium is very pleasant and the tables widely spaced (presumably a COVID requirement). The menu didn't offer a vast number of choices but there was enough there for everyone in our group of eight to find something, and we all ended up selecting different meals, so we also got a good look at what the kitchen had to offer. Perhaps the only disappointment was the nachos, but that could have been a case of a bad choice. Serving portions were generous and prices reasonable, especially for a hotel dining room. On the other hand, I think it is also fair to say the menu did not offer a lot for vegetarians. Our only issue with the place was the slow and chaotic ordering process, where diners had to queue at a small counter to be order and pay upfront for their meals. It let to some rumblings and frustrations in the line and is not something you expect in what passes itself off as a reasonably upmarket hotel
The restaurant is located inside the holel in a lush garden atrium which is a genuinely nice setting and the staff were good. However, honestly the food was a bit underwelming. The steak tasted ok but pairing it with chips and baked beans makes it...feel like a cheap pub steak. I had the Porterhouse Steak AKA Sirloin, not reccomended. Salmon looked good.
Great place to grab a bite and a beer stunning Atrium inside the hotel a must see in Canberra, varied menu's quality food
