Dined here in October 2016. I loved the welcoming atmosphere. The service was warm and efficient. As for the choice of entrees and mains, they were rather limited. However, the meal was very good. The desserts were odd, to put it mildly, but tasty. Recommended. View all feedback.
What Milton Bailey doesn't like about A. Baker:
Walked in early on Saturday night and were pleasantly welcomed by the staff. Shown to a table for two in a corner that was more than removed from the restaurant. More suited to a group than a couple, where the view for one was two walls. The menu was interesting, but the entree (choice of preserved meats) was flavoursome but over-priced. The food is inventive and fun but lacked a little flavour.
Yummy breakfast and amazing baked goods await you here.
Headed here for breakfast, had some amazing eggs on toast, it was a lot fancier than that I just cant remember what it was called, definitely great food.
Stopped in for lunch and was impressed by the tasty Udon Noodle Broth (perfect for a cool winter day). Hubs enjoyed the Sobrassada on Toast. Lots of great flavours in both dishes (and the portion sizes were quite generous). I would love to go back and try a more extended meal some time. The menu looks creative and original -- something I always appreciate. atozaatar.wordpress.com
Went here to catch up with an old friend I have not seen for a year and he recommended this place. Verdict? It is like a subpar Cumulus if you have been there. However, really enjoyed the dessert ( poached pear with ice cream) which was not sickeningly sweet and the mascarpone cream was rich and velvety smooth. The salty crispy bits also add nice contrast to the whole dish.
