What User doesn't like about King Of Buns Takeaway:
I ordered the scallion pancakes for $5, and I was really disappointed. They were mostly just deep-fried dough with hardly anything inside. I feel like I could easily make something similar at home for much less. I wouldn't recommend buying them! View all feedback.
It’s a big statement and I couldn’t help but check out King of Buns when I passed it. Were they right royally the best? They’re cheap as chips, that’s for sure, at $1 for a small bun and $2 for a large bun. Got a couple of pork buns and a sesame ball to try. The ratio of filling to bread dough in the pork bun was out of kilter with way too little filling for my liking, but tasty nonetheless.

After some really tasty, authentic and cheap Shanghainese food? This Shanghai diner is an institution in Campsie, you can tell by the constant volume of people coming and going. They are famous for their steamed buns which come in a range of flavours, and for only $2, it’s a great value, tasty snack. I had the pork and veg bun which was soft and fluffy on the outside with juicy meat on the inside. We also ordered a couple of their pastries the spring onion pastry and red bean pastry yoghurt with soy milk (each item also costing us only $2 each . Both of the pastries were so flakey and had a good crunch particularly with the sesame seeds. The spring onion pastry was tasty, I’ve not eaten anything like this before . The red bean pastry was the standout though, I loved that it was still warm on the inside and filled with a generous amount of red bean inside. I definitely want to come back next time (we took a menu to decide on what we would order next time! , we asked what the speciality was and dumplings seem to be the most popular dish (saw plenty of them come out of the kitchen . I also want to try the noodles and wontons, I will need to bring more people so I can try more of the dishes!
Newly renovated restaurant in Campsie famous for their juicy takeaway pork buns. I knew I had to try the updated menu since their move. Their curry chicken rice was really tender, the soup dumplings were more on the firm side (not as soupy as other restaurants) and their pan fried pork buns were nice and fragrant. Amazing value all of this for only $24. Will definitely be back!
One time visitor and will return to try a few more options. Grabbed a steam pork buns from the window. $1.80. Tasty, filling. Seems to be popular going by the line up I've often seen.
