Mykonos Taverna

I have been going to Mykonos Taverna ever since it was a take away back in the day. The food has always been simply amazing and very tasty. Since it reopened 20 years ago it has gone from strength to strength. The signature dish (lamb shank) is simply irresistible and the calamari is the best in town. Food portions are more than reasonable and everything is fresh. Great festive atmosphere and super-efficient and friendly staff. Always a winner.

A review from a Greek herself: my favourite Greek restaurant in Cape Town. <br/ <br/ The food is amazing! Absolutely love the mezzes and the gyros they’ve also got the pita bread just right. We always used to enjoy a good Mythos in the sunset but unfortunately they don’t stock them anymore. However, the service is always good though and they do plate breaking some Saturday evenings too, which is great for functions. Highly recommend!

LOVE, love, love! The haloumi starter, the vegetarian dishes, the baklava! It is amazing! I love the food and the atmosphere of this quaint little Greek restaurant where they even break plates on special nights! I especially love the chicken pitas/shwarmas and the tzatziki!

After reading all the reviews on this restaurant, we decided to try it out. We pitched up without a reservation and even though the place was packed, they happily made a plan and accommodated us. Staff were friendly, very attentive and food was served really quickly. They even kept our one year old busy and entertained him so that we could quickly eat our meals. Baklava was amazing! Great place and hats off to the awesome staff. Keep it up.
