Nice for a Sunday afternoon lunch with the family. Setting is very pretty and we had a friendly squirrel come up and take snacks from my hands. Food is good but slightly overpriced, but overall a pleasant experience.
COSY SUNDAY AFTERNOON LIGHT BITES<br <br I love this resturant, especially the constantia branch. I love the warmth cosines it has. It was the perfect pick today as the clouds were rolling in over table mountain. <br <br I ordered the shaved mushroom dish along with the spinach feta hummus. To be honest, I was expecting cooked mushrooms, but when it arrived it was raw... not exactly what I was hoping for but it landed up being really good with the dressing that accompanied it. It was fresh and light, just what I had come for. My hummus was also good, a bright green colour with lots of flavour. The only disappointment was that they were out of flatbread, so I got a slice of ciabatta, rye and whole wheat instead. <br <br I also ordered the virgin mojito which was really good. Just the right amount of sweetness balanced with lime. But the highlight of my meal had to be the cheesecake brûlée. Omg, so good! <br <br The service was friendly and our food came quickly, but I did feel like our waiter forgot about us at times. And it was difficult to get his attention.
Went to La Belle a couple of weeks ago to try out their new lunch and dinner menu and was blown away. <br/ <br/ Each and every course was delicious and I savored every single mouthful. For starters we had the mussel pot and the chicken meatballs. For main we had a fillet steak with mash and a mustard crusted sirloin both were tender and cooked to perfection. And for dessert I had the molten chocolate cake which was sweet, warm and an amazing treat to end an amazing meal. <br/ <br/ To drink, Jeanne had a couple of hot chocolates and I had two cocktails a strawberry gin smash and a berry Margarita. Again, both were fresh and delicious. <br/ <br/ La Belle's new menu is amazing and I would recommend you go and check it out.
I was at this place this past Saturday for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. The place is quite small but very pretty and decorative. We sat by the fire and the wall of clocks. I had the most delicious soft egg scramble with cream cheese. I really enjoyed the taste and texture. I had it with some nice ciabatta bread and hot chocolate. This restaurant is the best on a winter's day although the items are quite pricey so I would go once in a while.
La Belle is perfect on a winters day. We sat just beside the fire which was roaring. We ordered some cakes and a round of coffees. I ordered the lemon meringue which was tasty but the biscuit base was a bit too hard. Overall the venue is great, staff are friendly and very attentive. Our friends enjoyed the Ricky road and choc cupcakes. Overall a great experience.
