Dinkel Bakery

We chose to stay for a light lunch and ordered one of the classic German sandwiches, which was wonderfully fresh and full of flavor. It's becoming increasingly rare for restaurants to avoid deep-frying or smothering everything in butter and melted cheese, so I genuinely appreciated the wholesome nature of this meal—truly representative of German cuisine. After our sandwiches, we indulged in a slice of apple cake topped with freshly whipped cream. Served slightly warm, it was a perfect balance to the freshness of the sandwich with its sweet, fluffy, and buttery textures. Overall, the prices were very reasonable, and the service was efficient and unobtrusive. Of course, I had to take home a little souvenir, so I chose a sourdough loaf that was still warm from the oven. I was very impressed with the authenticity of Dinkel and their products, and I highly recommend giving them a try. There’s also a German bookstore upstairs, which is worth a visit as well.

This is a charming little spot that I’m so glad I discovered while driving by. After thinking about going in every time I passed, I finally decided to stop one day for a sweet treat, and it was certainly worth it! They have delightful cake slices available for takeout, and I highly recommend trying the Beesting cake—it’s absolutely amazing!

This might be the best breakfast I've ever had in Cape Town. It's an authentic German bakery, and I was truly impressed. In a world dominated by commercialized options, this place is a breath of fresh air. Thank you!

Love their almond croissants delish wash it down with hotchoc, affordable prices for the best quality treats , polite waiters just get there asap!

Great german bakery that we walked by on our way down from table mountain. It was such a nice day so we decided to walk all the way from table mountain when we came across this bakery. They have really cute outdoor seating in the backyard. Great selection of breakfast options as well as pastries ans coffee drinks. We got the green juice which was delicious as well!
