Dining solo at Willard Hicks, I was grateful when the host happily seated me on the patio. The friendly hostess served me thoughtfully and offered delicious recommendations from the menu that I truly appreciated. I chose the bone-in pork chop, cooked to perfect char and incredibly tender, bursting with flavor. Though I hadn’t planned on dessert, the warm butter cake suggested to me was the perfect sweet finale to a wonderful evening.
A nice spot for dinner with friends, though a bit expensive considering the food quality. We dined indoors in a comfortable booth with a manageable noise level. The highlight of our meal was the baked Brie, and the cocktails and baked potato were enjoyable. However, the calamari was soggy rather than crispy, the Brussels sprouts were undercooked, and while the ribs had a flavorful sauce, the meat lacked the fresh taste it should have.
We had a lovely experience at this restaurant. The friendly host accommodated us without a reservation, which was a pleasant surprise. The DJ had a great sense for the crowd, enhancing the atmosphere without making it too loud. Our dishes arrived just as we had ordered. Overall, it’s in a great location in Campbell, and we enjoyed our time there.
Fantastic restaurant in downtown Campbell! The atmosphere is lovely, and the food is excellent. Their burgers and fries are exceptional and definitely worth trying. The only drawback is the cost; it is on the pricey side.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit to WH, but I probably won't be returning often. The atmosphere blends modern and Western styles, and most patrons were dressed casually. They have a good amount of outdoor seating, which is important to me. Our server was fantastic and attentive, although she had a lot of tables to manage. The appetizers we tried were excellent; I particularly loved the baked brie and the poblano cornbread. For our main courses, we ordered the blackberry-glazed filet mignon. While it was tasty, I found it a bit overpriced for the quality of the meat. When our entrees were brought to our small table, we still had our appetizers on the table, and there wasn't enough space to eat comfortably until our server offered to box up some of our food. That felt a bit disorganized. I would give the bar program a B-. They had a decent selection of good drinks, including some sweeter options, but none of them were exceptional. Additionally, the barrel-aged Manhattan was served in a martini glass instead of over a large ice cube, which would have allowed for a better dilution over time.
