Sunday afternoon Sessions Some of the best talant in Sydney play every Sunday afternoon, all of them are top shelf but our favorites are Bernie Segedin Peter Northcote. They are a pretty special duo and singularly are extremely talented, Bernie’s soaring vocals and Peters incredible versatile Guitar playing make them amongst the best anywhere on the planet. If you haven’t visited The Public on a Sunday afternoon, the... View all feedback.

What Mike W dislikes about The Public:
For a beer and wine experience with friends, don't rush in as the staff are inexperienced and rude. For that beer you look forward to at the end of a hot day it was disappointing. Either half the beer is poured out as they attempt to fill the glass or it is poured all at once leaving it flat and uninviting before you leave the bar. However, the 18 to 20-year-olds know better and refuse customer advise and requests. T... View all feedback.

Our group enjoyed this restaurant. It was not very crowded when we visited for lunch but that could have been the time of day. I liked the crisp, clean, modern lines of the decor and everyone in our party really enjoyed the food. Our server was very personable and we enjoyed talking with him about the restaurant's history. There is a front entrance as well as a back entrance with parking.

6 of us went to this restaurant on a Saturday night. We were unimpressed with the food and the service. We asked if we could just order the patty from the burger without the rest of it, along with one of their salads. They said we could but the cost would be the same as an entire burger. The food was very ordinary and not particularly flavoursome. We ordered a citrus tart with meringue for dessert and also a cheesecake. Both were deconstructed with small bits scattered over the plate. We never did find any actual cheesecake. Nothing on the menu indicated that they were deconstructed. To the contrary....the menu said it was a tart and a cheesecake. Very poor value. Worth about $5 max. We were not impressed and will not go back. We definitely do not recommend it.

The Public, is a much improved Bar / Diner in many ways since our last visit, service has improved, however the food on offer is still pretty average, Mains are small portions mostly loaded with green leaves to fill what are essentially small, expensive servings.I agree with Mark W, “Ordinary food thank goodness for the Beer”, the introduction of a Happy Hour is a welcome must to keep people interested in visiting and returning.Live music on Sundays, is well below average, performers are needlessly loud The Public, should invest in some acoustic “soundproofing to reduce the din. Perhaps consider a DJ playing some cool Soul / Funk / Jazz to create a nice relaxed Lazy Sunday vibe.Overall, is much Improved, but still missing the Magic !! ?

Cammeray’s answer to a trendy pub (was never a fan of the old Belgian Beer Cafe), with a Greek/Mediterranean inspired menu. Living in Cammeray, i’ve been to The Public on countless occasions. From meals with friends to a few causal drinks at the bar. With a fantastic buzzing vibe and always with a great crowd. <br/ <br/ I’ve had a chance to try quite a lot of the menu and have been able to narrow down to a few favourites. <br/ <br/ Chickpea and tahini hummus with pita<br/ Chargrilled octopus<br/ Spiced lamb hummus, pine nuts and pita<br/ Spiced quail salad <br/ Duck Souvlaki <br/ Pulled Lamb Burger

I went to The Public on a recent trip to Cammeray. Annoyingly for my friends, I am a Pescatarian. This can be challenging with Greek cuisine AND share food, but the manager was very helpful and pointed me to a range of dishes I could enjoy.  The menu has an extensive list of great vegetable and fish dishes. The food was excellent and they have a great range of tap beers. The fitout look great- so much better than what was there previously! A great atmosphere and afternoon with friends. I will be back.
