Reviews - Kurma
Reviews summary
Nestled in Camiguin, this restaurant offers a charming atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a cozy spot for diners. While the selection for vegan and vegetarian options is limited, with just one vegan main dish and a few sides, the quality of food shines through. Signature items like the coconut meat burger and pita appetizer are particularly noteworthy. Additionally, the beautiful sea views enhance the dining experience. While some patrons wish for more diverse vegan choices, the overall vibe and decent vegetarian offerings make this eatery a worthwhile visit for plant-based enthusiasts.

Diggi and Robert offered numerous suggestions for excursions, and we were able to tailor them to suit our preferences. The lodge also arranged for drivers or vehicles whenever we needed them. In short, we would return to Kurma Eco Beach Lodge in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to others! As for nearby activities, everything on the island can be reached in about 1-2 hours by multicab. The boat transfer to the white island is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!
Stayed in Kurma last November 2023 for 2 weeks, and it was a blast! LOCATION is already by the beach, which is clean and shallow. Great for morning and sunset walks, swimming, or simply chilling and enjoying the view. There's a Gypsy Rover in front of the dive centre, about 15 meters deep, where you can do underwater photoshoots. ROOM is cosy and neat. WiFi is also available for you to use (keep in mind that you are on an island, so power interruptions are inevitable . FOOD is divine! They do have vegetarian and non-vegetarian options with generous portion sizes. I frequently order the Kabayan, Kurma rice bowl with sausage, vegetable karekare, and banana-rolled pancake. I could never get tired of them! Don't forget to try their camote chips and banana muffins for snacks, mango pineapple shakes, and iced tea with watermelon for a very refreshing drink during the warm afternoon. I also craved a cold sikwate, and Lucy (the staff was kind enough to prepare me one (now it should be on the menu, haha . If you're not a coffee drinker like me, enjoy the hot sikwate in the morning : STAFF are very friendly and funny. Rose, Lucy, and Lhen have always been accommodating. During my stay, I was fortunate to be able to join the Freedive Camp. There were confined and open-water dives, plus activities to explore some of Camiguin's tourist destinations. Even gained friends
I had such an incredible time at Kurma and can't possibly thank everyone enough for making my stay in Camiguin the absolute best. I felt right at home, from the moment I arrived to when I sadly had to leave. The dive team Diggi and Robert are extremely passionate, friendly and knowledgeable. You can't help but also fall in love with freediving after spending time with them. I've certainly found a new hobby I know I will carry with me. The food and service amazing. It's rare to come across delicious vegetarian options. I'm still dreaming about the Vegan Kare Kare. Lucy, Dayln and Rose, what an incredible front of house team. They were an absolute delight and so helpful. The stay and property the rooms are simple yet cheerful and the beds are comfy. I loved being able to sit on my porch and watch the sunsets. Being right on the water was perfect for taking in some sunshine with a view after a dive.

I was exploring the area for dining options and I’m really glad I discovered this lovely spot in Camiguin. The Kurma salad is fantastic! I also appreciated that they provide alternatives for non-vegetarians like myself. The owner and staff are very friendly, so it’s a great opportunity to learn more about the island as well.
Kurma offers an engaging course that could set you on the path to mastering Bisaya. The introductory course lasts 7 weeks, with classes held for 2 hours each week. Participants learn essential structures while interacting with Kurma staff, all of whom are native Bisaya speakers, in enjoyable, simulated everyday scenarios.
I absolutely love this place—the atmosphere, the people, everything! I took a Bisaya class here, and it was a blast. The personal touch from our local coaches made the experience worth every cent. I highly recommend it! Thank you all for such a wonderful time!
The staff is amazing, and the food made from fresh, local ingredients is delicious. It's also very vegetarian-friendly. Plus, the view is lovely!
My wife and I participated in the Bisaya at Kurma program, where we were introduced to the basics of the local language. Over the course of five sessions, we had the opportunity to learn commonly used phrases with a private native speaker by our side. If you're looking for an easy, understandable, and quick way to learn Bisaya in a friendly environment, I highly recommend this program. We had a great time, filled with laughter and learning, in such a short period.

We gained so much knowledge and had a fantastic time during our freediving course. Thank you, Diggi Val, for igniting our passion and inspiring us to improve!
I never imagined that I could try freediving, but I'm immensely grateful to Diggi for being incredibly supportive and helping me begin my freedive journey! :D I...
The resort feels like a true home away from home. The service provided by the owner and the staff is outstanding. The rooms and amenities are extremely satisfactory. The food is absolutely delicious.

There are only a few vegan options available at this restaurant, and unfortunately they are not high in protein. The food is decent, but it's a relief to have at least one vegetarian option in Camiguin.
The vegan and vegetarian dishes at this restaurant are tasty and the views are beautiful. I highly recommend trying the pita appetizer and the vegan steak - both are absolutely delicious!
What a pleasure to discover when I get back to Camiguin a restaurant that looks like vegetarian friendly! Combined with a free dive school and a yoga centre, it offers several very interesting vegetarian dishes!
There is only one vegan main dish available, along with a couple of sides, including the local ratatouille. I was disappointed by the limited options for vegetarians and the lack of effort to make more dishes vegan-friendly. However, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great.
