Crossroads Cafe - Cameron
Crossroads Cafe
Description
Part cozy neighborhood diner and part playful Harry Potter–themed stop, this family-oriented spot offers easy front-door parking, booths, a $2 sock display and a notably crisp Friday cod with homemade dressings. It’s affordable and good for groups and kids, but experiences vary widely: many guests report cold or soggy dishes, over-sauced comfort food, inattentive or poorly informed service and occasional food‑safety concerns, making visits hit-or-miss.

I needed a last-minute restaurant that could accommodate 12 people at 5:00 on a Saturday. I was shocked when the server didn’t know what the specials were, essentially telling us to look at the board ourselves. She also didn’t have any information about the soups or whether they had honey mustard dressing. My son ordered the meatloaf, but when it arrived, it was drenched in a unappetizing gravy to the point where we wouldn’t have recognized it as meatloaf and mashed potatoes if he hadn’t told us. My husband received a plate of white gravy that we assume was covering chicken-fried steak. My daughter’s enchilada was served ice cold, and my chicken strips resembled breaded cardboard, lacking any flavor. The steak fries were soggy. To top it off, my son ended up getting sick right around the corner from the building. Now I understand why we were able to get a reservation for such a large group on such short notice. I really can’t fathom how this place has so many stars—perhaps it’s a holdover from the previous owners.
I ordered meatloaf and fries. It came with the meat loaf, mashed potatoes, and fries. The meatloaf taste like soggy cardboard with burnt brown gravy smothering it and the potatoes tastes like wet newspaper with burnt brown gravy over them. The fries were good. I couldn't finish my meal and sat around in agony stomach churning while family talked then outside I couldn't leave the parkinglot before throwing up the little food I could choke down. Happy thanks giving me
Just had the 2 piece cod fish fry. Found it to be delicious and so reasonable. The salad dressing both the ranch and blue cheese tasted homemade. The crust on the fish was perfect. I loved all the choices on the menu but when it’s Friday you have to have the fish!
Basic breakfast food for a diner. Very strange decor and atmoaphere...we concluded it's a Harry Potter themed Cafe. It was very odd.
