Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant offers a beautiful ambience and decent portion sizes, but the food falls short of expectations. The service received mixed reviews, with some guests experiencing issues such as long wait times and rude behavior. On the positive side, the pub is recommended for its friendly staff, especially Victoria, and quick service during events. Some customers praised the delicious food, like the fish and chips and mullet from the special menu. Overall, the venue seems to be understaffed but still manages to provide a pleasant dining experience, despite some minor drawbacks.
Loved the desserts from here, the Christmas pudding and the fruit comp are too good from here also the ambiance adds a big touch to it!
Food sounds great on the menu. But the reality is nothing alike. And really pricy for no quality and poor execution. Took nearly 45 mins to get served our starters, that were barely edible. We had the fisherman's platter. 2 corners of bread 2 spreads 4 small pieces of calamari 2 slices of smoked salmon and a prawn cocktail brought back from the 80s. We then waited a further 25 mins for our mains. I had the duck. Over cooked. Watery cabbage on a slice of pineapple on a very soggy readymade waffle. Sauce was bland. My mum had the salmon which was completely over cooked and the skin burned Friendly staff though! Sadly will not be returning I'd recommend going to the wells pub up the...read more
Awful experience for a special day. We booked at the pub two months in advance to celebrate the 1st Holy Communion of our son. We booked for 2pm and confirmed our booking 2 days before. When we arrived there with our family at 1.45pm, we found out they had changed our booking to 2.45pm without consultation. After waiting for one hour we got the tables. We order some mezze for starters which we had to wait for 40 min just to get one of them; and another 40-45 min for our main which was roasted dinner and pizzas. We had to chase them all time for our food and we didn't receive any apologies at all. If it is not because family came from far away and they have to travel back again, we would...read more
Amazing Food, Great Pub, Great Service. Came here on a busy Friday night (24th Feb) the place was really busy next to the bar and the restaurant was looking fully booked. The drinks are very well priced compared to other bars in Hampstead ALOT cheaper than the stag and much nicer atmosphere, as I walked in the place just looked amazing which I don't often say about a pub. Now they did look a little understaffed behind the bar but saying that my order was taken quickly and I was served quickly. The only hold up seemed to be a group of 15 girls who were all ordering cocktails and had the attention of 1 of the 2 bar men but full credit to the other guy for serving the other 20 people waiting...read more
A shame. We had been dining here for years and have always been quite satisfied. Yesterday we went to their Fish Night We ordered the plaice and the red snapper. The red snapper was just about edible but the plaice was awful. A tiny portion with less than 50g of flesh which was impossible to get to or taste as it as smothered in a rich buttery sauce. One couldn't separate the tiny bones from the flesh due to the sauce. Felt cheated to pay £17 for each of these main courses.
