The service and the food were excellent. My wife and I have been several times at the bar for the burgers. (Get in line at least a half an hour before they open, it's worth the wait as their are only 18 a night and they will sell out in short order. This time we ventured to the other side of the restaurant for the 5 course tasting menu, everything was beautifully prepared and served at the height of the plate's prepa... View all feedback.
What Jordi Lira doesn't like about Craigie on Main:
Craigie on Main ranks high on many online as the go-to option for haute cuisine as well as bar food and cocktails. Despite the rave reviews, we felt there are ample other restaurants in Cambridge and Boston that do not succumb to the hype as Craigie did. Though the staff was excellent, the vibe was outstanding, and the whole team was on the same page; the food was just underwhelming. The limited option burger was not... View all feedback.
Loves this wonderful restaurant. The burger is always worth the hype. The constantly changing menu never makes wonderful ingredients to bring to the table full of taste and beautifully presented. The Craigie Next Door Terrace is a great answer to the restrictions from the pandemic, and the food lives up to the reputation of the restaurant from the front.
We sat on the ring side and have every dish carefully prepared for the evening to see really neat! Everyone seemed to be all about the burger, but don't miss the fantastic dinner menu. Our favorite dish was the squid pasta spicy, salty, and savory in all the right quantities. Also the rice pudding dessert, which ended an interesting take on a pavlova, and the chocolate mousse. The mousse had a potentially dangerous combination: mint and orange, but tasted brilliant. Will be back.
This is an amazing French restaurant! The food is from this world! We had the pig 3 ways and the rib was one of the best ever! The black linguins with shells were great. The beef in the bone was amazing. The chocolate dessert was great! I recommend this restaurant. It's not cheap, but it's worth it!
Sighs. Another day, another GREAT MEAL at COM. This place has evolved over several years into a “go to” Boston institution for many (including me) when in a solid run, consistently excellent, always creative meal that contains complex flavors, ingredients and textures. The classic burger has reached a cult-like status so much that it is difficult for locals to sneak one, unless they arrive early and come in line. The new burger of the month has relieved some of this stress and the two months I had they were excellent. Restaurant and preorder: are always top drawer. Bar Food and cocktails: exceptional. Service: always 5/5, never knocked or pretentious, always helpful and ready to accommodate. Don't be afraid of the specials. Example: Recently I had a trout Kama (Kollar). Wow! The juicy taste of the meat alone was beautiful. But the complexity that the salad and the vinaiigrette brought was something to see. Two different Crudo appetizers were dropped dead beautifully. If you can sneak a seat on the ring side, do it. I saw someone move from ring to table. Think. Tony Maws is a Boston symbol if for no other reason than being able to stay at the top of his game for so long with COM and his casual sibling restaurant Kirkland Tap and Trotter.
One of my favorite places to eat in or around Boston. I have been coming here for many years with my wife, and we leave delighted each time. While Craigie has aged since the initial wave of excitement, it has aged well still a must visit restaurant if you're going to be in Boston for any lengthy period of time.
