Was Haley Maerz at Al's Tech Square Cafe a mag?
Their eggplant chicken sub never disappoints—it's always delicious! I find myself getting a hot sub from them nearly every week. However, I had a surprising experience today when I went to pick up my online order. Instead of handing me my wrapped sandwich at the counter, the staff member tossed it to me underhand from where she was standing. What Joe Gio dislikes about Al's Tech Square Cafe:
This place is trash! Ya the subs are huge but I rather have a smaller sub that is actually good quality. I would never eat at any of these alls again it is straight View all feedback.

Thus place is unbelievable. Their subs are huge and delicious. It's a nice Location too...clean and it looks new. If you're looking for an Italian, meatball or chicken parm sub...this is your place. I live relatively close, so I often come here on my scooter.
Fantastic food! This is undoubtedly one of the best sandwich spots in Boston. The only drawback is the limited seating available inside. However, you can always grab a sub and enjoy it outside in the lawn chairs at Tech Square.
The teriyaki sauce on my steak teriyaki sub was way too salty and there was way too much of it to the point where my sub was pretty much inedible. There was a good amount of steak on the sub, which might have helped make it feel worth the slightly above average price tag had there not been an insane amount of salt. However, there were almost no veggies and very little cheese. The bread was probably the best part of the sub, but even that was fairly average. I will likely not be returning, and if I do I will not get anything with their teriyaki sauce again. The dining area was also messy and disorganized and I did not see anyone wipe the counters or tables at any point over the 20 minute period that I was there. The redeeming factor for this place was the extremely friendly staff and great customer service.
One of the best sandwich shops in Boston! They don’t mess around here, be sure to listen when you’re waiting for a hot sub because you are guaranteed to get flamed for being on your phone or not paying attention. Their hot pastrami is absolutely massive, and they don’t skimp on the meat. Bread here is considered top among sandwich shops in the area. This place is popping during lunchtime, but I think it’s always worth the wait.
I happened to stumble upon this place while on a break from my Uber shift and what a surprise, this place is small with not much seating but man the subs are SO WORTH IT.Fast service and great subs, I would 100% recommend the Steak Pizzaiola sub if you like a cheese sub with some marinara sauce, just make sure to grab some napkins because it’s very juicy ?

I consistently rely on Al's to offer me a delicious, affordable lunch that is always on time and never disappoints. The staff is friendly and recognize me by face and name, even though it's a chain location in a busy part of Cambridge. I usually order the chicken salad with American cheese, lettuce, and onions. I prefer to order ahead, but if you order in person, the line moves very quickly. The Kendall Square area is filled with 'artisanal' and 'modern' dining options, but while Al's may not be groundbreaking, it is still a fantastic deli that serves great, affordable deli food.

However, I had a surprising experience today when I went to pick up my online order. Instead of handing me my wrapped sandwich at the counter, the staff member tossed it to me underhand from where she was standing. I understand that they get quite busy during lunchtime, but from a customer service perspective, that really caught me off guard. What if I hadn't caught it, or if the sandwich had been messed up from being tossed? Would they have remade it without issue? This was an unexpected moment for me, and I believe it's something that should be avoided in the future.
The sandwiches were delicious! They were large and packed with flavor, and I would highly recommend them. The staff was incredibly friendly as well.
Al 's is known for the best lunch deal in Boston, with high quality sandwich ingredients, fresh baked bread, fast service, and a chips and a drink for a bargain. Now you no longer need to go into Boston to get it! The Kendall area had a sore lack of affordable quick lunch options, and almost nowhere to get a good sub, now Al 's has saved the day. I eat lunch at Al 's several days a week, over 50 times at this location since it opened in March. Subs are large or small, but the small is larger than anyone else 's large and will fill any big appetite. Order hot subs in the line to the right, and cold subs to the left. They also serve soups, salads, and chicken kabob meals at the far left line. Here are some of my favorites: 1. Roast Beef with Mayo and BBQ and provolone, lettuce, and basil) 2. Turkey cheese add bacon a ton of tasty crispy bacon makes it well worth the extra cost) 3. Chicken salad add bacon with lettuce, cheese, and oregano). The best chicken salad sandwich you will ever have. 4. Steak Bellino with american cheese. A decent steak and cheese that melts right into the fresh bread. 5. Hot Pastrami 'swiss and spicy ' with swiss cheese and mustard) 6. Chicken Eggplant Parmesan. As the chicken is not breaded, the breaded eggplant adds that needed flavor 7. Pesto Chicken Kabobs. When I 'm not in the mood for a sandwich. Awesome homemade pesto chicken breasts on a bed of rice, plus a salad and a loaf of fresh bread. 8. Meatball parm sub. Highlighted by their excellent homemade sauce. The chili is also that perfect balance of flavor and spice, meat and beans, and can be added on the side for a big meal or good enough on its own. Service is still very quick without the insanity and yelling of the downtown locations. There is just enough seating inside, and tables on the sidewalk on nice days.
Omg the guy who made my coldsub this morning was amazing. His name is George. Best sandwich I ever had. Amazing job guys. I get the bagged lunch at work.
