I love the eclectic food a fun tapas style menu. Great server. Carrots and pasta with an egg yolk. Yum! It was full at before theater, but I can imagine the noise level will be intense later in the evening. View all feedback.
What Ursula Pellegrini doesn't like about Alden & Harlow:
the food was interesting and came hot, but no server ware for interchangeable plates - art of rough noise level was loud, service was friendly, but mostly absent, large parties took up most restaurant, blocked our table, prices were high for what was eating and very small portions View all feedback.
The ideal restaurant. A place to feel comfortable eating outstanding food and drink. Great well informed service, relaxed atmosphere. The food lives up to the hype and the prices are sensible. Serendipity brought my wife and me to A H. We went to the Fogg Museum in the afternoon and then wandered Harvard Square thinking about dinner. I joked that we should check out A H, even though I had no idea where it was. I looked up and there it was across the street from us clearly a sign from the culinary gods. We decided to see if we could spontaneously grab a drink and an appetizer at the bar. We walked in and immediately found seats at the bar with no reservations (a little bit after 5PM. A couple of hours later we stumbled out of there happily fed by the raw pumpkin salad, the secret secret burger, pork belly parpadelle and some exquisite drinks. What really made it special was the bartender who in a very relaxed and informed way answered my wife's barrage of question about every dish and drink. Oh and we struck up a conversation with our neighbor at the bar who was drinking alone, waiting for his two girlfriends. It turns out he worked at the restaurant in the past and now works as a beer and cheese expert at a local store nearby. He is the one who informed us of the secret secret burger. All in all a great culinary experience.
Have been there for brunch recommend the potato and sausage skillet with a fried egg on top. Really good and filling
Excellent small plates restaurant and burgers!! I had to take a few different angles of the burger to make sure that I really caught it best because I did this a top 3 burgers of all time. The crispy cheese crispy, the sauce, and it was well salted. So much I enjoyed the burger, but the other little plates were really excellent! The Broccoli and the cauliflower were great, and the Focaccia was also good. But what I think was the star of the show was the basil pasta? some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. I tasted homemade, there was a little spice, and it was honestly perfect. Try the secret burger (they make only about 40 per night), but also the pasta!
I can't say I understand the hype. Service 5, Food 3, maybe. Kale Salat was solid in taste and as a solid green citrus mountain. But their adventurous records did not really do it for us. You were next to yourself that we didn't bring to the chicken? Nuggets? I suppose we should not order unambiguous meat in quotes anymore. The rabbit wasn't my thing, but my dinner buddy enjoyed it. The secret burger was more charred than I like and dripping in sauce if you like it. I felt hard and kicked out. Maybe these were our mistakes? The menu turns so much luck next time. With so many good options on H Square these days, I could get drinks and simple Americana here when I return.
I visited this place around Brunch/Lunch. You have good food quality. I would definitely try it for dinner. The portions can be a bit small, but the food is very recommended.
