Diners report inattentive staff, lengthy waits for food, and inadequate communication regarding menu availability. The ambiance suffers due to dirty floors and sticky counters, while tables lack proper upkeep. Guests have expressed frustration over incomplete orders and meals served lukewarm after extended waits. Though the staff may be polite, the overall experience falls short of expectations. Many suggest avoiding this establishment, as dining out should be a pleasurable occasion rather than a frustrating ordeal.
The service at this restaurant was incredibly poor. They were out of wings and wedges, but failed to inform us until 20 minutes after we had placed our order. When we asked for plates to share our platters, we were told they were out of plates and had to wait for the dishwasher to finish before we could eat. Our food sat under heat lamps for an extended period of time and I had to plead with the kitchen staff to allow us to take it. Despite there being waiting staff and a manager present, they seemed completely disinterested in addressing our concerns. On a previous visit, they messed up our order and instead of simply correcting the mistake, they argued with us and eventually realized we were entitled to broccoli that we had not received. Both visits took place on a Monday night with the restaurant being only a quarter full. It is surprising that this establishment is still functioning with such poor service. Overall, the experience was truly terrible.
Have been to many a Nando's and always been pleased in the past. This visit was awful. Seated after about a 15 min wait despite plenty of tables being free. Ordered on the app straight away. No service at all to our table for 20 mins. Had to go and find a member of wait staff to ask where our drinks were. Food was stacking up on the passover without wait staff serving. Another 20 mins or so before our food was served. All the time the staff (not that there were many) seemed to be walking around without purpose. Food was OK when it finally arrived but, by then, our mood wasn't exactly buoyant! We won't be returning to this restaurant.
I have visited this Nando's several times in the past year. It is conveniently located near Cambridge Leisure but I have consistently been disappointed with the service. The other Nando's restaurants in Cambridge are much better in comparison. I can't understand why this particular restaurant falls short. The food is satisfactory, but the staff are inattentive, often chatting amongst themselves or avoiding eye contact. I usually use the app to order, as Nando's prefers, to minimize interaction but even then, the service is lacking. The staff often stand around near the entrance and do not make an effort to open the door for customers. It seems like more training is needed. The staff are polite but not very proactive. During my last two visits with my children, I had to clear our plates and stack them up myself as no one checked on us. I had to go to the counter to request desserts for the children, as no one came near our table. Additionally, the glass screens between tables were dirty and clearly needed cleaning. If I worked there, I would find it embarrassing.
They have amazing food however due to their short of staff, hospitality has decreased and some quality too
I would not recommend this chicken restaurant. The portions are tiny, the chicken is not properly cooked, and we had to wait for an hour on a Tuesday evening. The staff seemed disinterested. Avoid this place at all costs!
