Gardenia is a unique combination: it's a tiny storefront restaurant with a few tables out front, kind of like a cheap chip shop, but it has a wide variety of foods (mostly Greek and Mediterranean) at reasonable prices, all of it served fresh and with care. There's also seating upstairs (which I didn't venture to see). We managed to satisfy two picky kids' tastes as well as three picky adults' tastes very easily and e... View all feedback.
What Calliopehk doesn't like about The Gardenia:
Possibly the worst calamari I’ve ever eaten. Tough, over cooked even the batter was terrible. The chips wasn’t much better. Tables upstairs could have done with a wipe. Apparently the kebab was a bit better View all feedback.
Omnivores and vegans, had it never? get it. it seems so wrong, but it tastes so right. updated by the previous review on 2020-03-17
Vegetarian and vegan options available, pretty good
The best chips, wow! very affordable and has such a good atmosphere. the seat in the upper floor is so sweet. I have tried both the dolma (damped wee leaves) and falafel kebabs and both were great, I would certainly recommend the dolma! be they very explicit about their veganism in ordering when they make up for it, I had never had any problem! plus, the staff always give me extra paved green chilis when I am for them alone, I will love this place forever.
Falafel kebab is really delicious and perfect after a night
Really great, filling meals in the centre of Cambridge. I usually take away as the seating area upstairs isn’t great, but sitting outside Kings College with a pita and chips is lovely. I’m a regular visitor at 3am as well as more socially acceptable dinner times!
